Why Neha Sharma could have been unceremoniously ousted from an item number in Anees Bazmee's upcoming film

Neha Sharma was at the receiving end of quite a shock after realising that director Anees Bazmee had started shooting an item song in his upcoming film without her. Neha was apparently supposed to be a part of the dance number and negotiations were also done in the effect. Sources close to the actress say that all was going good but post the negotiations, the makers simply disappeared.

Insiders say this could have something to do with Neha having certain reservations about her portrayal in the song. A friend of the actress says, `Neha was very clear from the beginning that given the nature of the song, her costumes and styling had to be aesthetically appealing. It was only after the makers started shooting with six other girls that Neha realised she had been unceremoniously dumped.`

Insiders say perhaps the producers were not keen to share Neha's vision and that could have driven them away. The actress' friend adds, `If she were to do an item song, it had to be the best.` Says Bazmee, `We had been considering Neha as she is a great dancer. But after listening to the song, I thought instead of one girl, six girls would suit the situation better. It wouldn't look good if I asked Neha to be among one of the six ladies.`

As the legendary filmmaker's first birth anniversary was celebrated a few days ago, there is more than one person who truly missed Yashji. The actor, Anil Kapoor, who has worked with Yashji in some landmark films like Mashaal and Lamhe felt the emptiness with Yashji not being with him anymore.

The actor was very close to the iconic director and they a different bond altogether. The two used to often meet for creative discussions and they used to seek advice from each other in times of need. Now that Yashji is not here with us, the actor really misses the short and long conversations they have had and the time they had whole shooting two legendary films together.
Anil Kapoor's most remembered film Lamhe with Sridevi was directed by Yash Chopra.

King Khan’s king size fan following in Egypt will have a treat this Wednesday
Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer Chennai Express will be the first film to release in Egypt in 25 years. It’s a pleasant coincidence that back home while Bollywood celebrates of 100 years of Indian cinema Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express will hit the theatres in Cairo.

United Motion Pictures, facilitated by Gaurang Films and the Indian embassy in Cairo, will release Chennai Express in Cairo and Alexandria. In the initial run, the movie will run in eight theatres in Cairo and two in Alexandria, including all major theatres and multiplexes. The film will carry Arabic subtitles.

The Indian ambassador Navdeep Suri said, “It was an odd situation. India is the world’s biggest producer of feature films; Indian films are screened in over 90 countries; Egyptians clearly love Indian films. And yet, they couldn’t find their favourite Indian films on the big screen! That’s where we intervened to connect Egyptian distribution channels with Indian film producers. I am delighted that they have come together to meet the demand of Egyptian audiences.”

The Egyptian audiences will now have the opportunity to see Indian films in theatres. Egyptian actress Aida al-Kashef of Ship of Theseus fame expressed her delight at the development, and hoped that a strong return by Indian movies would encourage further collaboration between Indian and Egyptian film industries.

For now the Hindi film fans can groove to SRK’s Lungi dance and catch one of the biggest hits of 2013 in a theatre near their home.
London: Speculations are rife that Adele has been cast as iconic musician Dusty Springfield in a forthcoming biopic, based on the late singer`s life.

A source close to the star told the Daily Star that Adele is attached to a project, but it`s in the early stages of development.

Insiders have alleged that the film has been in the pipeline for years, with Duffy and Nicole Kidman both rumoured to be in line for the part.

Sources have asserted that the project will be set during the late 1960s when Springfield moved to Memphis to work with producers at Atlantic records.

It is understood that the 25-year-old mum-of-one, who has previously admitted that she is big fan of the late star, was chosen for the role because of her resemblance to the `I Only Want To Be With You` hit maker.

The movie will apparently be helmed by Nick Hurran and written by ` Boardwalk Empire ` screenwriter David Stenn.
New Delhi: Be it the city of Prague or the beauty of a Fijian island, the new films that released over the weekend failed to pull audiences into the theatres. Going by the performance of ‘Prague’, ‘Super Model’, ‘Warning’ and ‘Maazii’ so far, experts are doubtful about their survival.

"Opening of all the movies has been very poor. I don`t know if they will be able to survive the week or not,” trade analyst Vinod Mirani said..

Anubhav Sinha`s ‘Warning’, which has been labelled as a survival film has reportedly collected Rs. 3 crore in three days. Executive producer Ishaan Gupta had mentioned that it’s a medium budget film.

Rohit Khaitan`s ‘Prague’ was made on an approximate budget of Rs.6 to Rs.6.5 crore and he said that revenues have picked up, but he refused to share any data.

Directed and produced by Jaideep Chopra, thriller ‘Maazii’ is said to be made on an approximate budget of Rs.7.5 to Rs.8 crore. This film, amongst the ones which released Sep 27, has been labelled a “disaster” by trade analyst Amod Mehra.

The film featured Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Ashok Banthia and Manish Chaudhary.

Even Navin Batra`s ‘Super Model’ that stars controversial Pakistani actress Veena Malik and her alleged ex-boyfriend Ashmit Patel didn’t create any waves at the Box Office.

"All the movies are flops. `Warning` must have earned around Rs. two and a half crore and rest in just lakhs," trade analyst Komal Nahta said.
Mumbai: Actor Abhishek Bachchan Monday said his wife Aishwarya Rai is the beautiful woman but he had never whistled at her but courted her through his gestures, emotions, and words.

"I am used to people whistling at my wife... see my wife then you will know why I am saying this. I have never whistled at her to woo her... I don`t think its the right thing to do. I courted her through my gesture, emotions and words," said Abhishek.

Interjecting, Aishwarya said: "This is why I am married to him."

Abhishek, who has been married to Aishwarya for seven years now, says she is a wonderful cook and she makes good deserts.
