Hrithik to resume shoot for 'Bang Bang' soon

Hrithik Roshan will be back in action from January 18 next year. The star is slated to shoot a song sequence for his upcoming film Bang Bang co-starring Katrina Kaif.

Roshan was to shoot the song in November, but due to his health conditions, he was forced to cancel the shoot.

Says a source, `A set was constructed at Film City, but due to constant headaches post his brain surgery in July, Hrithik had to leave for the US for treatment.`

The star, who returned from the US on Friday, has apparently given his nod and the set will be reconstructed in the helipad area of Film City.

Adds the source, `Hrithik is now concentrating on his health and is feeling better.`

Hrithik remained unavailable for comment.

Here's why Ranbir Kapoor skipped Deepika Padukone's party!

New Delhi: After giving back-to-back three hit movies, Deepika Padukone threw a lavish party to celebrate her success. From Shah Rukh Khan to Aamir Khan, the bash was graced by many biggies of Bollywood. However, there are reports doing the round that Deepika`s alleged former boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor gave this party a miss.

According to a tabloid, the 31-year-old actor, who is allegedly dating Katrina Kaif, is said to have deliberately missed Padukone`s bash held at a hotel in Worli. It is also reported that as Kaif was not invited for the celebrations, Kapoor decided to better stay at home rather than attending the party.

“Ranbir was not shooting on Saturday. It is clear that he did not want to attend the event. Ranbir was in no mood as Katrina apparently was not on the guest list,” a source said.

On the other hand, a source close to Kaif replied: “I don’t think she was invited. She was shooting for a brand on that day.”

However, Kaif not being invited for the party seems to be just another sign of the growing rivalry between her and Padukone. Not to forget how the latter taunted at the issue - of Kaif and Ranbir`s Ibiza pictures getting leaked - saying that if one is a public figure one has to be prepared for such things and it is that person`s responsibility be more careful to prevent such incidents.

Not only this, in the last season of `Koffee With Karan`, Padukone had stated that she would like to see Kaif`s passport; most people thought that Padukone was curious to know her exact age.

Apparently, Kaif is not happy with Padukone`s controversial statements against her.

Bollywood continued to be mired in controversy this year with actress Jiah Khan's suicide, Sanjay Dutt's return to jail, SRK-Salman's hug on Eid and SRK facing allegation of sex determination over the birth of his third child through surrogacy.

The biggest controversy in Bollywood this year was Jiah's suicide, which sent shock waves in the film fraternity.

The 25-year-old actress, best known for her roles opposite Amitabh Bachchan in 'Nishabd' and with Aamir Khan in 'Ghajini', was found hanging at her flat in suburban Mumbai in June this year.

While the police claimed it was a case of suicide, Jiah's mother Rabiya Khan alleged that it was not suicide and sought police to probe the angle of murder. According to police, Jiah had taken the harsh step over her soured relationship with Suraj Pancholi, son of Aditya Pancholi.

A six-page suicide note by Jiah talking about her relationship with Suraj landed him in jail. After spending over 20 days in jail, Suraj was released on bail.

On work front, he is signed for the remake version of 'Hero' by Salman Khan and Subhash Ghai.

Another talking point in the industry this year was the hug shared between friends-turned-foes Shah Rukh and Salman at an 'iftaar' party, which led everyone to believe that the two warring Khans were on their way to mending their relationship.

But it seems too much was read by everyone on this incident as it was just a goodwill gesture and not a move to end the animosity.

Salman, recently on a chat show with Karan Johar, had said that it was a goodwill gesture from his side on Eid.

The two actors had turned foes after a spat at Katrina Kaif's birthday party in 2008. Since then both have always avoided each other at public forums.

Somewhere in the build-up to the film, a character tells another: just make sure my eyes do not move from you for five whole minutes. Dhoom 3 is nearly three hours long, and I am here to tell you that my eyes strayed from the screen many, many times.

My attention shouldn't have wavered. Because the third installment of 'Dhoom' has the kind of tech specs the slickest Hollywood flicks do: superb cinematography, great-looking sets, expansive foreign locations. And the promise that leading man Aamir Khan is meant to bring to his act. But very soon into the film, you are overcome with the feeling that engulfs you when you encounter stuff you've seen too many times before. Dhoom 3 is a victim of both a crying lack of imagination, and franchise fatigue.

In snowy Chicago, young Sahir (Khan) is witness to his deep-in-debt-father's (Shroff) humiliation at the hands of a stony-faced banker, and the subsequent loss of his circus. Years later, in the same place, the Great Indian Circus opens to a glittering evening. Sahir, now grown up, has perfected his double-bill: that of the smart thief, and a skilled showman. When he is not leading imported-from-India cop-duo Jai (Bachchan) and Ali (Chopra) a merry

dance all over Chicago, he is charming awed audiences with his beautiful partner-on-a-trapeze Aliya (Kaif).

By rights, this should have been a blast. That's what the 'Dhoom' flicks are meant for: ultra-toned bikini-ready bods (remember the homely Esha Deol, yes the very one, transformed into a bronzed babe in the first one, and oh that Aishwarya in her teeny-weeny blue outfit that created such a storm in the second?), the funny ha-ha chatter between the tapori Ali and the dour Jai, and the sizzling hot bad guys. I would pay good money for John Abraham and his bikes, and Hrithik and his golden-streaked hair, even on a second run.

Aamir endorses Amartya Sen's views on Khans

A day after Nobel laureate Amartya Sen reportedly said that Indian media was obsessed with three Khans of Bollywood and not on development and education, actor Aamir Khan today said he accepted that.

"I think he (Amartya Sen) is accurate in saying that. I agree with him," Aamir Khan said here.

Sen had reportedly said Indian media was obsessed with three Khans of the Bollywood and was not focusing on pressing issues in the country like development and education.

Khan was here with Katrina Kaif and Abhishek Bachchan, who are the cast of 'Dhoom 3', which is slated to hit the screens on December 20. 'Dhoom 3' is dubbed in Tamil and is the first Aamir Khan film to be dubbed in Tamil.

"I really hope to see the reaction from the audience here," Khan said. Sharing her experience, Kaif said it was challenging doing acrobatics for the film but she enjoyed every bit of it.

To a query, director Vijay Krishna Acharya said, "There could be more 'Dhooms' every couple of years. There are chances of 'Dhoom 4' and 'Dhoom 5', if people want it." He also said that 'Dhoom 3' was action packed and shot in Chicago with the help of a technician, who worked in 'Lethal Weapon' and 'Rush Hour'.

Sunny Leone most searched personality on Google in 2013

.More people searched online for Bollywood newcomer Sunny Leone than actors like Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif and cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar, making the adult star the most searched personality this year, according to Google India's annual Zeitgeist.

The Google India Zeitgiest tracks the year's major events and trends based on Google searches conducted in the country.

Shah Rukh Khan was fifth in the list, followed by singer Honey Singh, Telugu and Tamil film actress Kajal Agarwal, Kareena Kapoor, Sachin Tendulkar and Poonam Pandey.

Bollywood hits and the Indian Premier League topped the trending charts, with Shah Rukh Khan's 'Chennai Express' topping the Zeitgeist chart this year.

Following in the list was Indian Premier League 2013, Bollywood film Aashiqui 2, while UIDAI, John Walker and Jiah Khan also made it in the top 10 list.

BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi emerged the leader in the most searched news category, followed by Blackberry phones, Rahul Dravid, Saina Nehwal and Vijay Mallya.

According to the Zeitgeist, there was an uptick in searches for e-commerce sites with Flipkart and Olx.com topping the chart for most searched online shopping sites.

"From a search trends perspective, 2013 was clearly the year of entertainment. Online shopping, banking and e-commerce also continued their upward trend a clear testimony to Indians embracing online transactions," Rajan Anandan, VP and Managing Director (Sales and Operations) at Google India, said.

Searches on mobile phones were driven by people looking for restaurants, bars and movies, followed by coffee and cricket score.

Exotic travel destinations like Macau, Maldives and Mauritius also saw more searches than places like Boston, Dubai, Amsterdam and Singapore.

Salman Khan, who hasn't had a single film release this year, still manages to remain in the news owing to his huge fan following and of course being host on the controversial reality show 'Bigg Boss'.

'Dhoom' is my film and I am the hero: Abhishek Bachchan

Actor Abhishek Bachchan, who has been a constant feature in 'Dhoom' series, says he is the hero of the film which could not have been made without him and co-star Uday Chopra.

In the third installment of 'Dhoom' series, Abhishek and Uday are reprising their roles as Jai Dixit and Ali Akbar, respectively, while actors Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif form the antagonist duo.

"...Dhoom is my film and I am the hero. Nobody can take that away from me. You can be the biggest or the smallest star but 'Dhoom' is about Jai and Ali. It is as simple as that. If the characters of Jai and Ali are not there in 'Dhoom', the film won't be there," Abhishek said in an interview here.

There were reports that Abhishek was not happy with the way the film was being promoted.

"You should ask the people who decide the marketing strategy which evidently isn't me. It is my film and wherever they ask me to come I will. Obviously, I want to stand by it. If they feel there are certain events where they don't want me to be around, what can I do about that. Do I feel bad for it?..No, I don't give attention to these things," he said.

Aamir Khan, who plays the baddie in 'Dhoom 3', seems to have been following the mantra of less is more as far as promotions are concerned. And Abhishek agrees with it considering 'Dhoom' is a popular franchise in itself.

"I think it matters from case to case. In a film like 'Dhoom', I think it doesn't need any stars. It doesn't need Aamir, me and Uday. 'Dhoom' has become a franchise in itself, you can have newcomers and it will do great," Abhishek said.

Abhishek said 'Dhhom' has become a brand in itself and there is no need to go out and promote the film aggressively.

Akshay Kumar's 'Gabbar' left with no lead actress

After Shraddha Kapoor opted out of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Shabina Khan’s next production Gabbar starring Akshay Kumar, the makers are finding themselves in a fix as the shoot was slated for next month. The film is being directed by South director Krish.

Says a source, “They have limited time in hand as Akshay has already allotted his dates. If casting is not ASAP, his dates will be wasted which is not affordable.”

The film is a remake of the 2002 Tamil film Ramanna which was directed by A R Murugadoss.

A source says, “Ever since the film was announced there have been speculation about the female lead in the film. Initially, makers were in talks with actresses like Katrina Kaif, Asin, Ileana D’Cruz, Shruti Hassan and Tamannah Bhatia.”

It is said that Asin, Tamannah and Shruti were in advanced talks, but they decided against taking up the offer. Shraddha came to the rescue, but she too made an exit even before the film could go on the floors.

The source continues, “Shraddha was supposed to begin shooting next month. As she is not part of the film, we are back to square one and will have to start looking for a leading lady once again.

Meanwhile, rumours suggests that the production house is also going through some budgetary issues as well and may have to look for another production house to back them.

Bhansali and Shabina remained unavailable for comment.

Salman Khan: Katrina is my sister-in-law!

Chandan Cinema theatre, in Mumbai's western suburb of Juhu, saw some major fan frenzy on December 12. After all, it's not everyday one gets to see superstar Salman Khan. Khan was on location to unveil the trailer of his latest film, Jai Ho, directed by brother Sohail.
A 500-plus crowd had gathered at the venue for just a glimpse.

Girls screamed 'I love you Salman, Jai ho Salman' and 'We want Salman.' Others posed for pictures against a huge movie poster of Jai Ho at the entrance of the theatre.
The unfortunate ones who couldn't get inside the theatre tried to climb the walls to get in.
Inside the theatre, the frenzy climbed a few notches higher.
When the Jai Ho trailer started playing, one could barely hear it, as every scene was greeted by whistles and screams.
Even the actor couldn’t be heard when he stepped onto the podium, waving and blowing kisses.
Salman was clearly thrilled, and was in his element.
He started off with a joke, “If you like the trailer, please stay. If you don't, please move out."

Mumbai: The Badhshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan has topped Forbes India`s Celebrity 100 List in its second edition. The esteemed list ranks India’s most powerful celebrities from various fields.
Khan beat Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (2nd) and his contemporary Salman Khan (3rd). The top three were followed by Sachin Tendulkar (4th) and Amitabh Bachchan (5th).

Indian cricket vice captain Virat Kohli too featured in the list and went on to become the youngest to achieve the feat. And Katrina Kaif became the only lady to feature in the Top 10 list.

WHY KATRINA DIDN’T ATTEND THE PREMIERE OF ‘JACKPOT’?

Director Kaizad Gustad’s movie ‘Jackpot’ is releasing today and the director had invited Katrina Kaif for the premiere last night. But the actress didn’t attend it.

Let us remind you that it was Kaizad Gustad who gave Katrina her first break in B-Town with his film ‘Boom’.

An insider said, “Kaizad has been trying to contact Katrina for the last couple of days. He has messaged and called her but she hasn’t responded at all.”

But then Kaizad cleared the air and said, “I have not invited Katrina personally. The event management company may have contacted her and sent her an invite. It’s common courtesy to invite everybody in the film industry so they would have sent out a whole bunch of invites.” He stresses that he hasn’t talked to her, “I am not in touch with her at all.”

A source close to the actress says, “Katrina had cancelled her meetings yesterday for a brand meeting plus script PPM for an ad she is shooting next week. Her office received an invite for the premiere but nobody has called her personally. Anyway, she doesn’t go for any trials and premieres of any films, even her own as she gets very nervous and edgy. She may attend some trials of stars but she doesn’t watch the entire film. She went for ‘Ship Of Theseus’ but went during the end and was hardly there for a few minutes.”

‘Dhoom 3’ team apologises to Abhishek Bachchan?

New Delhi: Abhishek Bachchan, who has appeared in the first two of the ‘Dhoom’ franchise, is apparently miffed with the ‘Dhoom 3’ team. But Aamir Khan hogging the limelight, hasn’t gone down well with Bachchan.
According to a tabloid, the `Dhoom 3` production team was so busy with the promotions that they forgot to invite Abhishek for a promotional event. It is said that the latter kept mum about this issue, but was certainly upset with the team.

However, it is reported that the `Dhoom 3` producer Aditya Chopra and his team recently visited Bachchan to personally apologise to him for their blunder.

“At the first look launch of the film, it was Aamir who held the fort completely. Even though Abhishek was present, it was Aamir who did all the talking. Abhishek had injured his hand at that time so perhaps he was quiet most of the time,” a source said

“The next event was for the song launch which again had Aamir along with co-star Katrina Kaif in attendance. Even though Abhishek was in Mumbai, he was clueless about the event. The makers have decided to make amends before it is too late,” a source added.
