Mumbai: Actress Soha Ali Khan is waiting to get some bespoke pieces of jewellery from her mother, veteran actress Sharmila Tagore. For now, she just enjoys borrowing them.

"Amma (my mother) has gifted me a lot of it, which hasn`t reached me yet. She says, `This one is yours and this one`, and I know that I will get it one day," the 34-year-old said here Friday at the inauguration of Glamour Style Walk, a high-end jewellery exhibition.

"But I borrow a lot of jewellery from her and she has some beautiful things. One special piece are the ruby earrings which are apparently mine and those are my favourite," she added.

Soha, who belongs to a royal family, being the daughter of late Nawab of Pataudi Mansoor Ali Khan, says she never felt the need to buy jewellery pieces.

"I am lucky that I have got a lot, so I have never had the need to buy anything because I don`t know if I would be able to afford it myself. But Amma has a lot of jewellery, our grandmothers collected a lot of it through the ages and that too very different," Soha said.

"So from Bengal traditional gold jewellery, from Bhopal that kind of mughal, polki and jadau... so all of those are very beautiful," she added.

The adult film actress to help Mallika Sherawat find her soul mate in her new show - the desi version of the American series 'The Bachelorette'

It looks like Mallika Sherawat needs some help in choosing a soul mate. The sex siren, who has begun shooting for her television show -- the desi version of the American series The Bachelorette -- is a bit confused about her Mr Right.

To help her out, Sunny Leone will feature in the show as a friend and confidante. The former adult star-turned-actress will guide Mallika so that she makes the right choice.

The shoot of the show is presently on in Udaipur. There are about 30 contestants vying for the attention of Mallika. After her Bigg Boss outing, Sunny will once again be seen in a reality TV show.

Says a unit source, `Sunny is slated to shoot shortly for the show. She will provide a lot of inputs to Mallika. It all depends on how the guy woos her. The contestants will have to please not only Mallika but also Sunny as she will have a say in the decisions.`

Adds the source, `Sunny will feature in a few episodes to add to the glam quotient of the show. Though the motormouth Mallika knows how to give her piece of mind, Sunny will ensure that she does not end up losing the right guy.`

Incidentally, the reason Mallika is doing the show is because she wants to remind people about a woman's right to choose her life partner.

At the show's launch in April she had stated, `I prefer men who take risks in life and especially the ones who are not afraid to speak their mind.` About her crushes she had stated, `I fainted after seeing Bill Clinton and find Barack Obama very handsome.`
Pooja Chopra who made her debut with Commando is now looking forward to her upcoming projects. In an interview with CS, the former beauty queen-turned-actress speaks about life in Bollywood
Dream debut

After Commando, I became acquainted with Bollywood, filmmaking, fame and attention. Things have improved for outsiders who want to make a career in Bollywood. In fact, I was quite skeptical about the industry as I had no one to guide me. I was heartened to see the positive reception given to the film. The film's success meant a lot for me.
Hometown history
My life in Pune, where I grew up was quite chilled-out. The city has its own charm. People have more time to meet you for a chat or cup of chai. In Mumbai, people hardly have any time.

Sometimes, my friends ask me don't you feel annoyed as in Pune you cant go for walks or have paani-puri or sit in sit in a coffee shop, I reply by saying that I always strived for stardom. If I were not an actress I would have been an IAS officer.
Tamil talk
I found it very tough to speak in Tamil. It felt strange on the sets as everyone around me were saying things that I didn't understand at all. It is easier for me to emote a character in Hindi. Working in a Tamil film was fun but nothing beats Bollywood films.
Fashion matters
I feel that every celebrity should have a basic sense of fashion. When you are in showbiz, you are constantly in the limelight. People look at you closely, thus taking care of your hair, clothes, make up, accessories and nails becomes very important. I am a very fashion conscious girl who loves feminine clothes. I like to wear cocktail shorts, dresses and gowns.
Fitness matters
Since school I was a hyperactive kid, I was always into running, jumping, and playing badminton. I can't do any exercise activity for a long time, for instance I cannot do yoga or gym for three months. I change my exercise routine and do skipping, jogging, swimming. A varied regime is great for the body.
Actor Celina Jaitley is currently in India for a shoot. Recently, the lady has been named as a part of a UN campaign that promotes equality for the LGBT community
In an interview with CS, she talks about the campaign, her kids and married life.

For a cause
I am glad that the UN has stepped into to recognise the plight of the LGBT community who are often victims of homophobia. The campaign aims to sensitise people through social media and public awareness initiatives.

People like Ricky Martin and Brazilian singer Daniella Mercury are also a part of this. I feel bad when I see people discriminating against gays be it at educational institutes, workplaces or even in places like restaurants.
Double delight
Everyone who sees my kids say that they resemble both Peter (husband Peter Haag) and me. They have brown eyes like their father but the shape of their eyes is like mine. They are quite hyperactive now. We have enrolled them for martial arts in Singapore to channelise their energy. They are having fun kicking around.
A pillar of support
In fact, at times, Peter and I don't even feel like we are parents. Peter is a very supportive husband. He encourages me in all my endeavours and doesn't hesitate from pointing out my mistakes. Peter did not have any problem in adjusting to our culture.

He spent a lot of his growing years in Iran and is quite accustomed to Asian culture. I too come from an Army background. Cultural differences haven't been an issue at all in our marriage.

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has urged men to respect women and elderly people, saying those who do so will be blessed.

"Respect the girls and women in your home, there is nothing bigger than that.

I want every young man to remember that you will be blessed only if you respect your parents, care for them and look upon girls in your family and outside with respect," the 47-year-old said during the dahi handi celebrations in suburban Ghatkopar on Janamashtmi on Thursday.

Shah Rukh's comments come in the wake of the ghastly gang-rape of a young photojournalist by five men last week. All the five perpetrators have been arrested.

He asked everyone present to repeat after him: "When we wake up in the morning, we will touch our parents' feet and give them respect. We will respect our wives and sisters like goddess Lakshmi and give them utmost respect."

Shah Rukh also broke the dahi handi and entertained everyone by mouthing dialogues from his films "Jab Tak Hai Jaan", "Devdas", "Don" and "Chennai Express."
Director Anil Sharma says his 2001 hit movie "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" will make people remember him for a century and he will not make a sequel to the blockbuster on the silver screen only for earning money.

The film starred Sunny Deol and Amisha Patel in the lead.

"If today I remake 'Gadar' I can understand it will be very successful. But only for the sake of business I will not spoil my 'Gadar' because this film will be remembered even after 100 years for Sunny Deol and myself.

"I want to be alive even after 100 years and it can only happen because of 'Gadar'. So I will not go for 'Gadar 2' until and unless I get that strong story," Sharma said here Thursday at the teaser launch of his next film "Singh Saab The Great".

The director accepts that a sequel can make good business and "Gadar" sequel will generate curiosity among the audience, and thus generate great business.

"Second part is always a good business proposition. I know the level of curiosity will be very high if I would make 'Gadar 2'. But 'Gadar' was such a big hit, probably the biggest blockbuster hit of Indian cinema.

"So much is talked about box-office numbers these days but it was the first film that crossed 100 crore rupees in 2001, in today's times it's a thousand crore," said Sharma.

Anil is currently gearing up for the release of his directorial "Singh Saab The Great", starring Sunny Deol in the lead.
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan and actress Rekha are likely to come together for Anees Bazmee's upcoming comedy film Welcome Back.

Producer Firoz Nadiadwala and director Anees Bazmee are

reportedly in talks with Bachchan and Rekha for the sequel of their 2007 hit Welcome.

Big B has already been approached to play the role of RDX - a don played by the late actor Feroz Khan in the first part, while Rekha has been offered to play the role of a wealthy fashionista.

"We are considering Rekhaji for a role which will have love angle between Nana and Anil. But it is too early to talk about all this as nothing is decided and confirmed. As there are three-four veteran actresses that we are thinking of it all depends if they like it or not, their dates and money issues," Bazmee told PTI.

Bazmee has not yet met Rekha or narrated the part to her.

"I am a huge fan of Rekhaji. I wanted to work with her. I feel since it's a comedy film, Rekhaji will do justice to her part as she has a superb comic timing," he said.

The erstwhile reel life couple whose onscreen and offscreen relationship has always provided a fodder to Bollywood gossip mills.

The two first acted in Do Anjaane (1976) and went to

do films like Muqaddar Ka Sikander (1978), Mr Natwarlal (1979), Suhaag (1979), Silsila (1981) to name a few.

Actors Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor will be reprising their roles in Welcome Back, while John Abraham and Shruti Hassan are the new additions. The film is expected to go on floors in a month's time.
Actor Hrithik Roshan, who was asked to stay away from crowded and noisy places since his brain surgery recently, could not stop himself from taking part in a Dahi Handi celebration here, which supported a charitable cause for tribal girls.

Going against the advise of his doctors to take it easy, the 39-year-old actor took part in the festivity at Ghatkopar, the proceeds of which went to a NGO working for tribal girls

suffering from malnutrition and starvation.

"My doctors told me not to go to a place where there is a lot of noise and crowd as it might affect the senses and I might get pushed. These are valid concerns but I feel that nothing can harm you when you are giving love. I felt completely protected. When someone does something great for others, its always wonderful to be a part of it and contribute," Hrithik said.

"It was also for a social cause supporting tribal girls which is also why I chose to go. I can't believe that I jumped and danced, even though I'm not allowed to do so right now," he added.
Actress Ankita Lokhande feels the chemistry she shares with actor boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput both on and off-screen is special.

The couple met on the sets of soap opera Pavitra Rishta four years ago and last year Sushant proposed to Ankita on a dance reality show in which he was a participant.

Sushant, 27, recently visited the sets of Zee TV's DID Super Moms to promote his upcoming film Shuddh Desi Romance and was shown a video which had messages of all the prominent cast of Ekta Kapoor's 2009 TV show.

"I am proud to be your girlfriend and the kind of chemistry I share with you, I can't have that with anyone else," said Ankita, who is still a part of the hit drama.

The Kai Po Che star became emotional and was too

overwhelmed to say anything after seeing the video. Sushant was accompanied by his co-stars Parineeti Chopra and Vani Kapoor. The episode will be aired this weekend.
Actress Kalki Koechlin has publicly apologised on the micro-blogging site Twitter for accusing designer duo Ridhhi Sidhhi for calling her "mentally disturbed".

Apparently, the actress had some misunderstanding and she suddenly started posting a series of tweets regarding the entire 'mentally disturbed' episode.

Taapsee Pannu, who made her Bollywood debut in David Dhawan’s Chashme Baddoor, will now be heard in a Hollywood movie.

The actress has been approached by PVR Pictures to dub for actress Katie Sackhoff in the Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions of Vin Diesel’s Riddick.

Katie plays a Nordic mercenary on a mission to track down Riddick in the film.

"Yes, I have been approached by PVR to dub for Riddick’s India release in three languages. This will be a first for me. I hope I will be able to do it given the fact that I have a packed shooting schedule till the end of this month."

Riddick releases in theatres across India on September 6.

Harlequin India Thursday launched the book "Grand Masti: The Fun Never Ends" which is based on the upcoming Bollywood adult comedy "Grand Masti"

Joining hands with film producer Maruti International, the publication house has added this book in the erotic imprint: Spice. It is written by Neha Puntambekar.

Terming this "reverse spin", Harlequin India Country Head and Publishing Director Amrita Chowdhury told the tie-up was an attempt to tap new markets where the readers would want to know more about the movie.

"Usually, we have films based on books, but there are many things in a film that can't be communicated to the audience. This tie-up is complementary to what you will watch in the film, " she pointed out.

"The novel will talk about characters: How they met and focus on areas that are not shown in the film. It will take off from where the film begins or ends. These are original episodes and not in the movie, " she added.

Chowdhury said there would be many more similar tie-ups in the future. She said, "...but it all will depend on the ethos and sensibilities of the two brands matching."

The trio of Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani and Riteish Deshmukh had featured in the Indra Kumar-directed 2004 film "Masti" that had left the audience in splits.

They are now back in its sequel, "Grand Masti", to release Sep 13.

Another book, 'Satyagraha: The Story Behind the Revolution", based on the film directed by Prakash Jha, was launched here. The book traces the months of hard work, fun on the sets, costume crises and other events that tell behind-the-scene tales.
After having starred in two of director Apoorva Lakhia's films, television actor Shabbir Ahluwalia is one of the producers behind his next project

This marks the actor's first film as producer and it was he who brought Lakhia on board for this film. The actor hopes to balance both sides of his career.

Says a source, `Shabbir has acted in Shootout At Lokhandwala and Mission Istanbul. Their friendship goes a long way.`

Stating that making Zanjeer 2.0 has been a huge learning experience, Shabbir adds, `Since this film is my first as producer, I thought what better than to get Apoorva as director. Getting the project together has been a wonderful experience.`
Katrina Kaif was spotted at the Mumbai airport on her arrival from London, glued to her cellphone with her lips tightly pressed

Kat was glued to her cell with her lips tightly pressed. Pursed lips are an indication of tension and may indicate frustration or disapproval.

In body language it is a sign of anger. It also indicates that the person is thinking and deciding between possible options. Now who is a cause of irritation for Kat.

ALSO: Kat stepped out in a T-shirt which made a rather telling statement considering what was written on it.

The actress was also spotted carrying the same backpack with floral prints with which she had travelled to London.

Reality TV star Kylie Jenner has reportedly got into a car crash just a little over two weeks she obtained her driver's license.

The daughter of Bruce and Kris Jenner, who recently turned 16, was driving her brand-new USD 125,000 Mercedes SUV on Wednesday around the neighbourhood of California when she

rammed into the back of a Toyota, reported TMZ online.

"Kylie immediately got out of her car, apologized, and then exchanged insurance information with the other drivers. The Toyota was damaged in the back, and the Subaru had minor

damage to the front," an eyewitness said.

By the time police arrived, Kylie was already gone. No charges were filed.
The firangi divas never had it good in Bollywood. In Shoojit Sircar's Madras Cafe, Nargis Fakhri whose Hindi is still ...errr...shaky (read: non-existent) conveniently plays a half-British journalist. Every single spoken line of hers is in English...with Hindi subtitles for those who don't follow her global twang.

Now in Jackpot: Full Jhol, Sunny Leone goes a step further. She will speak her own Hindi lines. A full-fledged Hindi-Urdu tutor has been deployed for the purpose.

Director Kaizad Gustad smiles at memories of another firangi actress in his debut film Boom, Kaizad had introduced Katrina Kaif. Her Hindi was non-existent. And her dialogues had to be dubbed. Now Kaizad gets Sunny Leone to be one-up on Katrina in Jackpot.

Says the director, "Sunny is the only female character in Jackpot. And I hope to display her acting chops. We're reading the script every day. She will do her own Hindi dialogues. We're working on it every day. She is really one of the hardest-working actresses I've worked with. Just like Katrina. When Katrina came to Mumbai she didn't know a word of Hindi."

Jackpot also stars Makarand Despande who plays a funny twisted Konkani cop. And the Tamil star Bharath. "It's basically a jhol (conflict) between Sachiin Joshi and Bharath with Sunny Leone pulling a fast one on them, and Naseer pulling a faster one. I am raring to finish. I've a lot of films to make. I am making three uninterrupted back-to-back films in the next one year."

Sunny Leone seems mighty charged with the challenge of mastering the rashtra-bhasha. "I have learned all my Hindi lines for all my movies here. Even though Jism 2 was dubbed, I still had to learn every single word. And in Ragini MMS too I will be dubbing my own voice. It's very important to me to learn and work hard to get it right. I am extremely competitive so when someone tells me I can't do something like act, dance, express emotions on screen, or speak Hindi, all it makes me do is work harder to prove all those negative people wrong."
The seventh season of popular game show Kaun Banega Crorepati hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan is back with an aim to make people aware of the importance of continued learning.
The central theme of the seventh season is Seekhna Bandh Toh Jeetna Bandh.

The show will have some changes this time - there will be 15 questions, the ultimate winning amount has been raised to Rs seven crore, new lifeline 'power paplu' introduced with which contestant can revive any of the already used lifeline, fastest finger fast round now becomes best out of three and the winner at the end enters the hot seat.

"With all the new offering the show this year is bigger, better and brighter. The show is reborn, rejuvenated and is innovative. Our aim is to up the general knowledge quotient as well," Siddhartha Basu, chairman and managing director of Big Synergy Media Ltd, told reporters here.

Also, there will be a new set and location of the show.

"The show has been shifted from Filmcity in Goregaon to Yash Raj Films studio in Andheri. This is primarily because the infrastructure is better and it has nothing to do with Mr Bachchan's health. This new place is far better. We wanted to do the last season also there but couldn't as the shoot for Dhoom 3 was under progress," Sneha Rajani, senior EVP and business head, Sony Entertainment Television, said.

Bachchan will be hosting the show yet again and is excited about the entirely new experience.

"I am afraid of the questions asked by the media... There are times when I am not aware of it (question) and there are times when we don't have an answer," he said.

The show goes on air from September 6 on Sony channel from Friday to Sunday at 8.30 pm
Preity Zinta is just back from a 2-month sabbatical in the US, straight into the vortex of the gangrape crisis in Mumbai.

Too stunned to speak, Preity finally says, "Is there anything left to be said or done? Haven't women like me who are supposed to have a clout and a voice said it all during the Nirbhaya incident? Then what happened? 9 months have passed. The bastards who did it are still to be sentenced. How can rapists be discouraged if they know the law takes its own course?"

She derides the custom of covering the culprits' faces with a black mask. "Why are rapists allowed to hide their faces? They should be forced to show their faces to the public. I remember the mother of a rape victim had printed a picture of the rapist in the newspaper. We need to look for remedial solutions to the horrendous atmosphere of uncertainty and fear that women have to face. Otherwise we will become more and more self-centered. We'll react to a crime only when it happens in our home."

Preity feels it's time for drastic measures. "Fast-track courts are not working. Maybe special courts to try rape cases are the solution, though even that sounds like a time-consuming process. I think a better solution is to try offenders in crimes against women outside the courts and then just get rid of them? I am sorry if I sound radical and too drastic. But the time for pleasant pontification and dainty legalese is over. We need to take stock of the situation now. Or the country would plunge into anarchy and civil war."

An immediately rectification in the situation would be admissible if rape and crime against women become a state issue.

"How much can the Centre bear? Let the safety of woman be a state issue. It's time to bring changes in governance. What we are witnessing is the death of the system. Only a miracle can revive it," Preity is in despair.
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who is basking in the success of Chennai Express, is all geared up for Farah Khan's Happy New Year.

Choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan tweeted that she has finished costume trials with Shah Rukh and recorded a song with composer Vishal Dadlani.

Farah Khan posted a series of tweets today on her upcoming film Happy New Year, which goes on floors from September 1.
Actress Kareena Kapoor, who is known in the film industry for her professionalism, refused to do an intimate scene with co-star Ajay Devgn in their latest release Satyagraha.

A romantic love song Ras Se Bhare Tore Nain Saawariya required Kareena to kiss Ajay Devgn, however reports suggest that now married Kareena Kapoor flatly refused do the intimate scene with her co-star.

In Vishal Bhardwaj's Omkara, Kareena had done some very intimate scenes with Ajay Devgn. But that was before her marriage.

"Prakashji wanted at least a brush-on-the-lips since this was a very passionate moment between the lead pair. But now after marriage, Kareena Kapoor won't do any intimate scenes with any of her co-stars. Not even her own husband Saif Ali Khan. There is a certain code of conduct that Kareena Kapoor must follow as a Pataudi bahu. Also, Kareena Kapoor would do nothing to hurt her mother-in-law (Sharmila Tagore) whom she loves dearly," said a source from the Satyagraha location.

Sources from the location say Prakash Jha had to make do with just the suggestion of a kiss and zero-proximity between the pair.

"Bebo has always been fearless before the camera. It isn't as if she hasn't done kissing scenes. She kissed Aamir Khan in 3 Idiots, didn't she? But I think Heroine was her cut-off point as an actress. She did that very bold role with no holds barred. But I think she has made up her mind to avoid all intimacy on screen after marriage. I feel that that's a good thing. Prakashji had to fudge the kissing scene and we just see Bebo lying fully-clothed and alone in bed. That's it. I think her wishes as an individual must be respected," said one of Kareena Kapoor's co-star from Satyagraha.
Priyanka Chopra's gun-toting suggestiveness in the music video for Zanjeer with Ram Charan Teja will not be seen in the film. It will be used for promotional purposes only.

Now, we hear that director Apoorva Lakhia has shot a raunchier number with London-based model, Jasmine May.
Aap logon ki news ke hisaab se main sab filmon mein hoti hun aur phir sab mein replace bhi ho jati hun (According to you guys, I’m doing every film there is and being replaced in all of them too),” she complains playfully.

Fresh off an elaborate US tour for Exotic and Planes, Priyanka’s return has sent Zanjeer (a remake of the Hindi original, in Telugu and Hindi) promotions into an overdrive.

She mentions jetlag and constant fatigue before quickly settling in for a barrage of questions.

In the freewheeling conversation that follows, Priyanka Chopra discusses her upcoming films -- Zanjeer, Krrish 3 and the Mary Kom biopic -- her penchant for hero-oriented films, and claims to be Amitabh Bachchan’s remake queen.
It’s heartening to see just how full of surprises you are, dear readers.
We asked you which ‘celebrities’ (using the term very loosely indeed) you’d like to see in the Bigg Boss house this time around, and your replies made for very interesting reading indeed.
Here are your results -- and why we think they’re such fine picks.
Pat yourselves on the back and carry on reading.
Priya Rai
If the formula’s worked once, why not keep working it?
That seems to be the thinking as many of you have voted for Priya Rai, an Indian-origin porn star, to come and follow in the footsteps of Sunny Leone.
Leone, now a mainstream movie star in Bollywood, is a tough template to match, but Rai is clearly woman enough for the job.
Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor is inviting you to hit dance floor once again with his new dance number Lut Gaye (Tere Mohalle) from Abhinav Kashyap's Besharam.

You can count on Ranbir Kapoor when it comes to entertainment. Lut Gaye (Tere Moholle)'s highlight moment is in fact Ranbir Kapoor at his taporri best.

Although, the spunky song is not different from any other wedding dance sequence but, Ranbir Kapoor and Pallavi Sharma latka-jhatkas can engross the audience.

Ranbir and Pallavi's jugalbandi towards the end is a dampener.
The song is choreographed by Chinni Prakash of Jodhaa Akbar, Agneepath, Dabangg fame.

Lut Gaye (Tere Mohalle) is sung by Mamta Sharma and Aishwarya Nigam of Munni Badman Hui fame.

The Soundtrack of Besharam is composed by Lalit Pandit of the famous Jatin-Lalit duo and the lyrics are penned by Nikhat Khan.

Besharam also starring Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh, is slated to release on October 2.
Bollywood actress Kalki Koechlin is upset with designer duo Riddhi-Siddhi Mapxencar and DP jewellers for calling her 'mentally disturbed' at the Glamour Style Week 2013 on August 28.

According to reports, Kalki, who was the show stopper for the designers forgot to walk with the duo. This move of hers angered the designers and they called her mentally disturbed.

"After a 4hour wait in lehenga, jewellery make up they have the gall to call me mentally disturbed! Riddhi siddhi, dp designers shame on you!"
Kalki was dressed in a lehenga choli and came on the ramp and did a dance gig to entertain the audience. After which she walked out as quickly as she walked in.

Defending herself, Kalki further wrote:
Bollywood's most eligible bachelor Ranbir Kapoor will soon be taken. According to a report published in Mid-Day.com, Ranbir Kapoor is planning to propose his rumoured girlfriend Katrina Kaif on his birthday September 28.

The report further suggests that Ranbir Kapoor is keen on marrying Katrina and might soon come out in public about their relationship, which has kept everyone guessing.

Reports say that the actor is planning to propose Katrina in a fairytale style, by getting down on to his knees.

The duo were spotted getting cosy in Spain with pictures of bikini clad Katrina splashing all over the media.

Katrina, who has wrapped up Dhoom 3, is also making efforts to stay more close to her beau.

According to reports, before leaving for her sister's wedding she stopped at Sri Lanka to meet Ranbir, who is shooting for Bombay Velvet there.

Ranbir had recently gifted an expensive pair of earrings from a high end jewellery shop to Katrina on her birthday.

There were reports that Ranbir's parents Rishi and Neetu weren't happy with their son's choice of girl.

But, Katrina's spokesperson denied the buzz saying Ranbir will be busy promoting Besharam and travelling during his birthday.
The actor was spotted at a dahi handi event in Mumbai
We’d told you Shahrukh Khan will be present at the Janmashtami celebrations in Worli in Mumbai. So here’s a picture of his, symbolically breaking the matka at the dahi handi event, but this is in Ghatkopar. The Chennai Express star became a ‘Govinda’ – a representation of Lord Krishna – and joined in the celebrations to celebrate the birth of the Lord.

Hoardings announcing SRK’s presence were all over South Mumbai and the aam janta was present in hundreds to catch a glimpse of the star. Shahrukh reportedly shook a leg to local Marathi songs and mouthed his own popular filmi dialogues. On a serious note, in view of the recent gang-rape case in Mumbai, the actor appealed to people to respect women.
Preity Zinta is just back from a 2-month sabbatical in the US, straight into the vortex of the gangrape crisis in Mumbai.

Preity blames the shoddy quality of political leadership for the the state of law and order in the country. `How many of us actually vote to choose our leaders?

Do you know, in the slums television sets and alcohol are distributed on the night before elections. Do you think the poor can think straight and vote for the right people when they are lured away like this? And let's face it, the definition of the common man has changed. We are all the common people. Some of us may think we have a voice because we're celebrities. But how much does that voice really matter?
During the Nirbhaya case I spoke to so many people in power. Everywhere I was stonewalled by 5-year plans. Arrey yaar! In 5 years there will be 500 others awful crimes against women, one more gruesome than the other. Are we supposed to just give up and only hope that those close to us don't get affected?

Or are we supposed to hold candelight vigilance after every such incident and then return to our normal lives? I am really quite lost on this issue now. I don't know what to do.

Madhuri Dixit and Salman Khan relive their 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun' days on the dance-reality show 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa'

Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit went 19 years back in time as they relived their 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun' days playing their characters Prem and Nisha yet again

As usual, Sallu floored everyone with his antics on 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa' where he was promoting his upcoming show 'Bigg Boss 7'.

The duo also performed on the 'Dekha hai pehli baar' track from their film 'Saajan'.

Salman was so eager to meet his 'Nisha' that he even arrived before time for the shoot. Shahid Kapoor and Ileana D'Cruz were also on the show to promote their upcoming film 'Phata Poster Nikla Hero'. It was however shot before Salman's arrival.
