Salman Khan, Arjun Kapoor

Actor Arjun Kapoor has reportedly sung a song in his next - produced by uncle Sanjay Kapoor - Tevar, and going by the lyrics of the song it's an ode to his mentor Salman Khan.

According to a leading daily, in Tevar, Arjun plays Pintoo, a small-town guy who's the biggest fan of Salman Khan. The story is reportedly based in Agra. And the need to create a situational song led the team - Sanjay, Arjun, director Amit Sharma, lyricist Kausar Munir and Sajid-Wajid - to create the song as it is now.

The song's lyrics, too - Main toh Superman Salman ka fan, according to the report - give away the sentiment. The song apparently not only establishes Pintoo as Salman's biggest fan but also his relationship with those around him.

Stepping back to look at the bigger picture, the sentiment behind the song is understandable considering it was Salman who pushed an overweight Arjun to get fit.

She's played glamorous roles and a girl-next-door in several of her past films. But Priyanka Chopra, who features as boxing champion MC Mary Kom in a biopic, says playing an athlete in a film was almost unthinkable for her.

Mary Kom has thus, taught her a valuable lesson.

"I never thought I will play an athlete or I can become an athlete. I didn't know anything about sports. Besides, who would have thought that a girl can develop muscles and biceps, but that happened with me," the 32-year-old said here on Tuesday in an interview.

"I learnt that if you are adamant about achieving something, anything can happen and you can do anything. This was a very inspiring thing for me," added the National Award winning actress.

Mary Kom, which is director Omung Kumar's debut film, will hit theatres on September 5.
Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor has returned from her London vacation to a blockbuster Singham Returns. The movie has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark. But whether this is a redeeming act for Kareena on the silver screen is a question only she can answer, especially since she hasn't always made the right choices when it comes to selection of films in the past.

Queen, Ram-Leela and Fashion were films that were well received critically as well as financially. So who should they owe these performances to? The directors? The script? Or the supporting cast? The correct answer is Kareena Kapoor. Yes, long before these ladies got down to working on their respective projects, it was Bebo who was offered these films.

When Kareena was once asked about how she reacted when people like Anurag Kashyap advised her not to bother about who was acting in the movie but on the content, she replied, "That's the best piece of advice I've ever got and I should have got it from a lot of closer friends, but I'm happy that Anurag decided to say that because the fact is that it is the truth and my mother, my sister, Saif everyone stands by that."

The actress revealed that her decision to do certain films in the past was influenced by factors like friendship and now she would make more rational decisions in the future.

Kareena has also reportedly been talking about the films she had rejected in the past, which has not gone down to well with at least two of the leading ladies. In an interview, Deepika Padukone, who replaced Kareena in Ram-Leela, said, "It's silly for actors to talk about films that they didn't do because they are remembered for the ones they did."

Priyanka Chopra too has something to say about how she never takes credit for the Rs 100 crore-fetching films that she does, especially Krrish 3 and Don 2 and Agneepath. "I cannot take credit for the success of Krrish 3 and Don 2, I was just a supporting actor in the films and did not carry the movie on my shoulders. My film Barfi! also made Rs 100 crores, but Ranbir, Ileana and I had an equal contribution to make.

So, was Singham Returns a success only because Kareena was a part of it? Would 3 Idiots make the same amount of money without Kareena? Could SRK ever deliver a blockbuster with Ra One without his Chammak Challo are questions only Kareena can answer.

The casting of Sanjay Leela Bansali's movie Bajirao Mastani have been finalised.

The bridal wears were a blend of long gowns, skirts, saris, lehenga cholis with heavy diamond studded sequence and embroidery work.

Manish Malhotra said: "It's been a long journey. She is my sister. She has been the coolest bride I have ever dressed so Lakme can't have a better show stopper than Kareena."

On Kareena's outfit, Manish said: "I have used two versions of grey. I want this grey to be popular this winter."
Actor Varun Dhawan kick-started the grand finale by walking the ramp wearing black pants and jute jacket which had a velvet red Chinese collar.

The runway at the show was decorated with flowers.

Many celebrities, including including Kajol, Karan Johar, Huma Quereshi, Karishma Kapoor, Richa Chadda, Juhi Chawla, Dino Morea, Sridevi, Boney Kapoor, and Gauri Shinde, attended the fashion show.

Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor's upcoming film 'Finding Fanny' will now be premiered in September as it awaits certification

The advanced premiere of Homi Adajania's film, Finding Fanny, was scheduled to take place on August 25, but it has now been postponed to September as the film is yet to be certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Dinesh Vijan, producer of the film, says, `Yes, it's true.

We were planning to hold the premiere on August 25, but in lieu of the recent developments at CBFC, we don't want to take any chances.` It may be recalled here that after the trailer of the film garnered good reviews, the film's producers had decided to host the film's premiere 17 days before its actual release on September 12. As a result of this, the makers had to let go of the opportunity to premiere their film at the Toronto Film Festival.

A source says that after the recent arrest of CBFC CEO Rakesh Kumar, all work at the Censor Board has come to a standstill. `Keeping this in mind, it's perhaps wise on the makers' part to host Finding Fanny's premiere in September,` says the source.

Popular actress Sakshi Tanwar of "Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii" and "Bade Achhe Lagte Hain", says Ekta Kapoor has asked her for a meeting, but as of now, she is clueless about whether a new show is in the pipeline with the TV czarina.

There have been reports that following the end of "Bade...", Sakshi is set to join hands with Ekta once again, in a show titled "Itna Na Karo Mujhe Pyaar", featuring Ronit Roy.

But Sakshi says she's in Delhi with her parents ever since the curtains came down on "Bade Achhe..." in July.

"I've been in Delhi with my parents ever since 'Bade...' got over. Ekta has asked for a meeting when I return to Mumbai. But as of now, I've no clue what it is for," said Sakshi.

She admits that she was approached for a show by Ekta earlier.
"This was for another show before 'Bade...' ran its course. I had to regretfully say no to that offer. At that time I wanted to take a break. Ekta was a real sweetheart about it. She said, 'You let me know when you're done with your break and we'll do something together'."

At this point of time, Sakshi says she has no idea what Ekta has in mind for her.

"Mardaani", which deals with the issue of girl trafficking, carries a message on women's empowerment and the film's lead actress Rani Mukerji hopes that it works so that they can bring out part two.

Directed by Pradeep Sarkar, "Mardaani", which sees Rani as a police officer, hits the screens Friday.

"'Mardaani' carries a message on women empowerment. It deals with the issue of trafficking of girls," said Rani.

"It is time women should take up matters like self-protection into their own hands. I don't want any girl to be dependent on her father or brother to go somewhere just because she is scared," she said referring to rise in crime against women in the country and how parents "worry" when their daughters step out.

Rani feels it is high time girls should be self-reliant.

"I want girls to enrol in self-defence classes like karate, kickboxing etc. I hope the film works, so that we can come up with 'Mardaani-2' and tell another story that will make an impact. I also think more films like Mardaani should be made," she said.

"Mardaani" is coming out with an A-certificate.

"Unfortunately, in our country, we don't have a separate censor certificate for people above 12 years and below 18 years. Either we have an A certificate, which is only for adults or UA-certificate for people of all ages.

"I would love to see people, especially women and girls, across all age groups watching the film. The film will inspire girls to speak their mind, be brave and bring out their 'mardaana' (brave and bold) spirit," he said.

The actor who is known more for his good looks and great dancing skills, Shahid Kapoor happens to be one of the underrated actors in Bollywood, who shines on screen when working with Vishal Bharadwaj. The `R...Rajkumar` actor`s personal life too has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride.

According to reports published in a leading daily, Sasha, who is currently seen promoting his film `Haider`, recently found himself in an embarrassing situation. The actor, while promoting `Haider` on a dance reality show, discovered that his former ladylove Priyanka Chopra too was on the same set.

To avoid bumping into her, Shahid decided to lock himself up inside a vanity van, till the time PeeCee left the vicinity, reports suggest. Well, the duo never spoke about their relationship in public but Shahid had admitted to being in a relationship with her while on board Karan Johar talk show `Koffee With Karan`.

Vanity needs no apology, at least for Shahid and Priyanka!
Mumbai: Lakme Fashion Week, Winter Festive 2014 is not devoid of glamour. Masaba Gupta, who is one of the youngest and most talented fashion designers showed her collection to the world and the show stopper was none other than Shilpa Shetty.

Celebs at Lakme Fashion Week 2014
Celebs at Lakme Fashion Week 2014Shilpa posted her picture on the microblogging site , Twitter.

"I just loved the title `Wanderess`, which I actually am at heart. So, I really hope I have done justice to your outfit and I loved the collection," said Shetty.

The theme `wanderess` is inspired by renowned poet Roman Payne`s character Saskia.

‘Issaq’ fame Amyra Dastur, who is paired with Emraan Hashmi in Vikram Bhatt-directed ‘Mr. X’, says the    romance in the film is darker than a usual romantic entertainer.
"It`s (`Mr. X`) a love story, but it`s not your happy, teen romance. It`s darker than your usual romantic        films because it`s also a thriller. It`s a superhero film," Amyra said.

"What`s really interesting is that I`m not actually romancing Emraan, I`m chasing him in the film. That`s what  makes this a darker love story and quite different from other films," she said.

Amyra, who is simultaneously shooting for Tamil film ‘Anegan’ with Dhanush, finds Emraan to be extremely  "witty".

‘Mr. X’ also features Arunoday Singh in an important role.
Whoa! If this piece of rumour turns out to be true, this could well be scoop of the month.

Rumours are doing rounds that Deepika Padukone's arch rival Katrina Kaif was the first one to be approached for Bajirao Mastani, but the porcelain beauty rejected the high profile role.

And guess why did Katrina reject the magnum opus? Apparently, she didn't want to star opposite Ranveer Singh because he is his junior.

Ummm...this sounds a bit incredulous for Katrina has worked with her juniors in he past, and is in fact, currently working with much junior Aditya Roy Kapur in Fitoor.

Well then what could it be? The Ranbir-Deepika-Ranveer equation? Our guess is as good as yours.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani seems to have all the makings of an epic: leading Bollywood stars and a budget to match it.

According to a leading daily, the film has a budget of a whopping Rs.210 crore and this makes the film the costliest ever made here.
The film will be recreating a portion of Maratha history with the actors - Ranveer, Deepika and Priyanka Chopra - dressing head-to-toe in fabrics similar to those used in the time of Bajirao Peshwa, adds the report.

It is this need to be as authentic as possible that could be behind the film's big budget. And if Devdas with a budget of Rs.65 crore was a preview, then Bajirao Mastani promises to be a game changer.

His success is about the right decisions at the right time, but Aamir Khan confesses that the important decisions of his life were never supported by the people around him. However, now when he looks back, he cherishes the fact that he lived his life on his terms and conditions.

"This is a fascinating thing that right through my life, every important decision of my life, all people who are important to me, close to me, have always told me, 'You are making a mistake, don't do this'. I have always been told that," the four-time National Award winner said.
The 49-year-old was speaking at the Young Inspirator's seminar here Tuesday.

He further said: "I always listened to them carefully, I never ignored them. But I finally did what I felt like doing and when I look back after 25 years of being a professional, I think that is the one thing that I feel happy about. I lived on my terms."

"Today, I am successful, but I may not have been successful as well. But I am happy that I never compromised. Whenever I was offered something I was not happy with, I didn't do it."

Aamir started his full-fledged career in 1988 with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and carved a niche for himself with films like Raja Hindustani, Sarfarosh, Lagaan, Fanaa, Rang De Basanti, Ghajini, 3 Idiots, Dhoom 3 and many more.

As a director, he made a successful film Taare Zameen Par and the film on dyslexia earned him Filmfare's best director award.

Currently, he is gearing up for the release of his next PK that will hit the theatres in December this year. The actor received a lot of flak for posing nude for the film's poster.

Rohit Shetty is apparently roping in Kajol as the lead actress with Shah Rukh Khan in his next film

With his latest film, 'Singham Returns' garnering a good response, director Rohit Shetty is understandably on a new high these days.

But if sources are to be believed, he has another reason to smile: it turns out that he has signed on none other than Kajol opposite Shah Rukh Khan for his next film.

Says a source, "Rohit will be directing SRK in his next film and he has now signed on Kajol as the lead actress for the film. This is a indeed coup though everything is at the planning stage right now. In fact, the film's pre-production work has already begun and an official announcement should be made soon." The source adds that Rohit is about to finish work on the final draft of the film's script. "It will go on the floors in the first half of 2015. Just last week, Rohit Shetty finalised Kajol as the leading lady of the film.

It was easy for him to sign her on as he shares a great equation with her actor husband, Ajay Devgn. It may be pointed out that Rohit also played the mediator between Ajay and Shah Rukh," says a source close to the director.

SRK and Kajol were seen last seen together in the 2010 film, My Name is Khan. Rohit Shetty and Kajol remained unavailable for comment.
