Imran Khan's wife Avantika Malik has become the latest victim of dengue but is said to be stable

It looks like dengue went calling on Imran Khan's doors as well. The actor's wife Avantika Malik has contracted the fever but is said to be stable. According to Imran, the intensity of the fever wasn't too overwhelming, allowing Avantika to rest at their Bandra home instead of being rushed to the hospital.

Ranveer Singh had a rather major health scare after he contracted dengue during his shoot schedule in Durgapur.

Avantika incidentally had been running a temperature for almost four days before she opted for a blood test. However, it wasn't as bad as the family had initially expected.
Says Imran, `We were lucky as it wasn't anything major. She got a fever last week and we thought it was a regular viral. Later, it was diagnosed as dengue.`

The actor, who has to go back to work to promote his next film, 'Gori Tere Pyaar Mein' from tomorrow, is relieved at his wife's health getting better. Bandra has been witnessing a rising number of dengue cases recently.

Govinda seems to have finally given his nod to play the role of a father on the big screen

After the actor bowed out of Athiya Shetty's 'Hero', where he was to play the debutante's father, Govinda has agreed to essay Ranbir Kapoor's dad. The film, 'Jagga Jasoos', will star RK as a 17-year-old lad.

Says a source, `The film is a joint production between Ranbir and director Anurag Basu. It was Anurag who had approached Govinda to star in the film.

Govinda has apparently already greenlighted the project.` Govinda, however, admits to verbally having agreed to be a part of the film but says he has not formally signed it yet.
`I have seen their work. I would love to work with them. We are still discussing the role.`

In the meanwhile, Govinda has been itching to mark his second innings in Bollywood. He says, `My movies haven't released in the last three years and soon enough, along with the father's role, I will be approached for the grandfather's role as well.`
New benchmarks are set and a few stereotypes are broken with each character that Mahie Gill plays in a movie. The actor, who rose to fame with her performance as 'Paro' in 'Dev D' is ready to experiment more and grab any opportunity that allows her to try something new.
The Chandigarh-girl, who has made a place for herself in Bollywood with her unconventional roles, bold avatar and more, is now grooving to the tunes of item numbers.
`I lap up whatever would help me get better in Bollywood," said the actress during her visit to her hometown.
"After I did a dance number in my Punjabi film 'Carry on Jatta', that is when directors felt I can actually dance. Since then, I have got a lot of offers for item songs. I am happy with my dance number in 'Zanjeer' and I am looking forward for my next in Saif Ali Khan's 'Bullet Raja'," she added.

Known for her intense roles in "Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster" series, she feels that the cliche roles don't interest her much.
`I am very choosy about my scripts. After doing bold roles, I can't settle for anything less," she said adding that her decision is guided by scripts.

"I don't make a conscious choice to choose unconventional roles. If I like the script, I go for it. For me, the script has to be interesting. Even if I have two to three scenes in a film, I don't mind doing it if they are worth it,` the 37-year-old told.
Even after establishing herself in Bollywood, Mahie does not shy away from doing Punjabi films.

Asked about her love for Punjabi cinema, she said: `I owe a lot to the Punjabi film industry and my last Punjabi film 'Carry on Jatta' was a blockbuster. I don't think a comedy film like this has ever been made in Bollywood. Punjabi cinema is doing great. Such films are the reason for me to continue with the regional cinema. I feel this is where I belong.`

Post "Carry on Jatta" success, Mahie claims she got offers from NRIs to make a similar film at a budget of Rs.20 crore, but Mahie feels this is sheer waste of money.

`The regional cinema does not work on such huge budgets. People who are abroadhave lack of knowledge and they are just ready to invest without thinking. Such a huge budget is unnecessary and will not give adequate returns in the Punjabi industry. So I rejected those offers,` she said.

Which is your favourite role so far?

`Paro in 'Dev D' will always be close to my heart. Though all characters that I have played are special to me, but 'Dev D' will always be my favourite,` she said with a smile on her face.

On her wish-list are more comedies and actioners. "Also a film based on sports. After 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag', I would love to do a biopic on some sportsperson or a double role is what I would like to do,` added the actress, who featured in "Paan Singh Tomar".
Mahie's personal life had some rough patches in the past, but now she admits being happy in a relationship with a guy from Jammu, who does not belong to the film industry.

Talking about her upcoming films, Mahie said she is all set for "Gangs of Ghost", which is a 1950s horror comedy inspired by legendary actress Meena Kumari.

I am very excited about the film. I am also doing a dance number in it. The genre is very different from what I have done so far and since it is inspired from the legendary Meena Kumari, it makes it more interesting,` said the actor looking stunning in her gown.

Actress Priyanka Chopra, who has done an item song in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Ram Leela', describes it as a modern mujra which has Indian vibes with a western touch.

"The song is very different and special because I am a huge fan of Mr. Bhansali. It's a modern mujra which you all have not seen for a long time. It's a mujra, but modern. It's got Indian music and vibes, but still western and contemporary.

`It has got a different look, different form of dancing and I didn't have time to rehearse. I used to rehearse at night," Priyanka told reporters here.

Aishwarya Rai was reportedly approached for the item song before Priyanka.

`Ram Leela` features Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in the lead.
Believe it or not but some 10,000 beer bottles play a 'vital' role in the upcoming Shahid Kapoor-Sonakshi Sinha starrer

In the upcoming Shahid Kapoor-Sonakshi Sinha starrer R...Rajkumar, a mammoth collection of beer bottles have been used in the film. The makers claim 10,000 bottles (someone from the sets was given the task of counting them?) have been utilised.

The glassware has been described to essay a 'significant' role in the thriller along with the stars. These beer bottles apparently clink and clamour for as much attention as the stars with their histrionics.

All films nowadays steadfastly carry the message that smoking and drinking affect health substantially.

Wonder how these plethora of beer bottles, who the makers allege make a big impact in the film, will pass muster with the concerned authorities. The Censor Board and health ministry raise the alarm when anyone lights up a cigarette or takes a sip of the bubbly on the screen as they feel Bollywood glamourises smoking and drinking.

As R...Rajkumar is an action flick, most of Shahid's stunts and fight sequences have been done with beer bottles. Not to be left behind Sonakshi also has gone on a bottle-breaking rampage - on the heads of the goons in the film.

When asked about the presence of the numerous beer bottles in the film, producer Viki Rajani explains, `In the Gandi Baat track, it is a desi bar song.

The production designer Nitin Desai came up with the idea to do the entire set using beer bottles. It also added a lot of colour when it was lit up for shooting.

The beer bottles have added flavour to the set up.`

In the Gandi Baat song where Shahid and Sonu Sood get jiggy along with director Prabhu Dheva the thousands of bottles are on display on the sets. The rest keep popping up every now and then in the flick.

For Zarina Parveen, a Saki Naka housewife from Suburban Mumbai it was a dream come true when she met the man whose fan she has been since childhood, when she first saw superstar Shah Rukh Khan on television in Fauji, the actor's first TV assignment.

Parveen met SRK after she was declared the winner of Lux Chennai Express contest on Saturday at a function held at a hotel in Mumbai. Lucky Parveen got an opportunity to enact the legendary train scene with none other than King Khan himself from his blockbuster movie Chennai Express. For this the organizers had erected a special train set for the occasion.

When on stage SRK enquired with Parveen about her family and what they do. She revealed her husband was a light man and she had two kids - son Sohail who was eight-years-old and a five year-old daughter Nisha whose studies they had to discontinue after they were unable to pay her fees on time.

SRK asked her to meet her backstage after the function along with her husband. While Zarina refused to go on record about the conversation SRK had with them saying, "Sir, woh bahut zyada personal baat hai." However, it was more than clear that SRK had offered the couple financial aid so that they could re-admit their daughter to school for studies. This reporter himself saw a person from SRK's office take down complete details like address and telephone number of the couple.

Parveen further adds, "It all seems like a dream and I can't believe what happened. I had never imagined that I would stand next to such a big person. I am still in daze and am not able to focus on my domestic chores fully. Thank God my mother is besides me right now to help me."

Parveen kept hugging SRK throughout the evening even though the actor was suffering from flu like symptoms replete with sneezing and coughing. She says, "I am fine and healthy and I have not caught on his cold. Let me also tell you that after I returned home I changed immediately and the clothes that I was wearing while hugging SRK I promptly put into a chest. I am never going to wash those clothes again. Those clothes have Shah Rukh Khan's fragrance captured in them.

There’s a storm outside. Her turbulent locks have been straightened for the shoot and she languidly makes love to the camera. Every move she makes, the photographer lets out a sigh. The deserted mill compound comes alive with her fashionista avatar. An interplay of colour, style and her sexy body lingo. Ladies and gentlemen, hold on to those suspenders, that’s Kangana Ranaut.
But there’s a sea of stories within and that’s what I want to fathom. A story about the teenager who rebelled against parental authority and came to Mumbai. Mahesh Bhatt called her the ‘wild flower’. Her walk seemed destined to be on the wild side. She went to hell and back. A few skeletons, a few tormentors. And a few who showed compassion in an industry riding on her dark successes in films like Gangster, Woh Lamhe, Life In A Metro, Fashion and Tanu Weds Manu.
Then the dark clouds abated. Replaced with a new found abandon. The earlier skittishness melded into a come on take this mien for the paparazzi. Dark nights were out, red carpet fashion was it. Kangna Ranaut was toasted, feted and baked in the pages of glossies and tabloids. She is indeed every fashionista’s wet dream. A dream for any writer trying to whip up a flurry of images. The rags to riches story. The murky past. The candyfloss success. The pathos and pain behind those lacerating performances. Kangana Ranaut right at this moment is making my achy breaky heart thud faster... and that’s got nothing to do with the red hot right now pics she’s clicked. She was made to be a star in showbiz and here’s why she will always be the right girl for all the right reasons.

When Mr Perfectionist was spotted roaming around in an ajeebo-gareeb avatar with a transistor hanging around his neck, speculations were rife about the hatke character the shorty is playing in Rajkumar Hirani’s P.K. And now with these fresh pics out, we are more curious to know what the movie is all about, aren’t you?
Aamir Khan is known to surprise his fans with the kind of roles he plays. In a career spanning over two decades, Aamir has entertained us with the kind of movies he’s done. Given his carefully crafted Mr Perfectionist image, Aamir doesn’t do anything unless he is kicked about the script. This time, the 48-year-old star all set to serve something really different in his forthcoming movie P.K. directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The movie will star Anushka Sharma opposite the megastar.

We had spotted Aamir shooting for the film in his strange avatar. Wearing some strange clothes, a beaded neck-piece hanging around his neck and lipstick smeared on his lips, Aamir only heightened the curiosity about the role and the plot. And here are the new pics showing Aamir having a blast with Hirani as the two discuss about the film. Taking some time off, the Khan dude was also spotted taking pictures with his fans on the set of the movie.

P.K. was also in the news recently. Apparently, a unit director of the film was arrested for hurting religious sentiments during the shooting of a scene for the film! A film crew member was arrested and a case was registered against him after the locals objected to a scene in which a man dressed as Lord Shiva was pulling a rickshaw in which two burqa-clad women were sitting.

Initially, people thought the actors were members of ramleela but on seeing cameras, they inquired about the issue. The actors told police that it was a dream sequence of the movie and they had all the legal documents and permissions for the shoot.

Now going by this instance, we can infer that the movie has a curious combination of nautanki, ramleela and aliens? No that would be too early to jump the gun. You don’t worry, take a look at these new stills while we try to find out what Raj Kumar Hirani’s closely-guarded P.K. is all about.
Armaan Kohli, who is at loggerheads with the other inmates because of his 'friendship' with Tanishaa Mukerji, seems to have ruffled a few feathers outside the house. Their growing fondness for each other may have affected a certain Tanya Singh too.

Armaan, who is allegedly dating Tanya, has been living in with her since a few months now. He was introduced to her by Vivek Mishra, the latest entrant of 'Bigg Boss 7'. Says the source, "Tanya knows Armaan's family and stays with them. Now that Vivek has gone inside the house, he is likely to make Armaan realise his mistake and remind him that there is someone waiting for him outside. While there is nothing official about their relationship yet, the two have exchanged commitment rings."

Only time will tell if Armaan comes out of the house a changed man or goes back to Tanya. Despite repeated attempts, we couldn't reach Tanya.
The superstar had written a long blog piece and shared Chopra’s last visuals when he passed away last year on October 21. But today, he is quiet…
Amitabh Bachchan, who acted in several Yash Chopra movies, is quiet on the filmmaker’s first death anniversary today. When Yashji passed away on October 21, 2012, Big B had promptly poured his thoughts out on his blog– his last meeting with the director, his last phone call and his last visuals with him.

Last year, in a post titled Death in its darkness overtakes and clouds us all .., the actor had understandably got philosophical, overcome with nostalgia. Yashji’s contribution to the millions of viewers who witnessed his creativity is immortal, he said, and rued that his association with him suddenly came to end when the filmmaker died of dengue and organ failure.

He’d said, “I last saw him, as do you from the pictures above, on my birthday celebrations. He was indisposed and the doctors advised him rest, but he was insistent on coming over. He had made a commitment he said. He had been asked to speak…It was his last public speech and appearance. The pictures you see above are his last visuals. His whispered words, the last he made to me, at the 10th October celebrations for my birthday. The visuals that one shall see tomorrow will be his last before the cremation, those that he shall never know of. His breathe has gone and all that shall remain will be that which he gave life to – his creativity, his emotion, his poetry on film and above all his humanity.”

Sharing stories of their struggling days, Bachchan had written, “When he broke away from working with his brother the distinguished BR Chopra, another institution of eminence, he started his independent work from a small 6×10 little dress and property storage room in the great V Shantaram’s RajKamal studios. Two simple desks occupied the cramped space. He sat on one. His accountant on the other. Paper work, posters, at times dresses for the artists of his film were stored within that room. He and I would spend hours in that little space talking film, scenes, stories, shooting issues and just a lot more. He rose from there by shear dint of his talent and hard work and built, in the most central commercial area of Mumbai, on acres of land, the most modern and well equipped studio that the film industry has seen to date. He did not just sell beautiful dreams, he created them too in reality. From an ordinary apartment in a high rise in Pali Hill, he created his own home in Juhu, a minute away from mine. The times spent there, the wonderful and fun filled evenings, the sessions of story and music in his ‘gadda room’, the Holi celebrations, the rich events which gathered eminent artists, the sumptuous meals that he and his wife Pamela cooked for us … just such a vast collection of memories …”

We wonder why Sr Bachchan has not talked about Yash Chopra today… Maybe he’s busy?
She recently held a rally protesting about the atrocities against women and inspired people around her
Gunjan (Roopal Tyagi) has always been known to raise her voice against injustice. Being a 21st century woman, Gunjan believes that every woman should be able to protect herself.

Obviously her mother-in-law was not very happy about Gunjan running rallies and protesting about women’s safety in the city, but that did not deter the young girl from doing it.

Fortunately or unfortunately, Gunjan comes in the eyes of a politician who wants to use Gunjan’s popularity for her own gains. She visits the Garg house and requests Gunjan to join her party and help her secure the future of women in the country. While the idea is tempting, Gunjan refuses saying that she is not interested in politics.

Not used to a ‘NO’, the politician tries to convince Gunjan and her family but the young lady had already made up her mind. Apparently, in the upcoming episodes, it is seen that the politician when fails to convince Gunjan verbally, tries to use force. She sends goons to scare her in to submission.

Will Gunjan get scared and join the politician’s party or will the young daring gal take up politics without getting into muck of the whole thing? Keep watching this space to find out more!

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan feels that box office records are meant to be broken.

"I don't do films to make records. Every film will make some record...It's stupid to think records will not be broken.

Any good film will do well and it feels fantastic when such film does well. It's important to make better films. The film (Chennai Express) had finest commercial director...great actress Deepika...It feels heartening to see this kind of response," SRK said.

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika-starrer 'Chennai Express', directed by Rohit Shetty and released in August, has earned Rs 220 crore at the box office.

"There are so many platforms to release a film today. It's natural there won't be a golden or a silver jubilee today. There's speed today in terms of theatrical release and enjoyment of a hit film is amazing," he said at an event.

With the trend of sequels, the actor ruled out any "concrete plan" to make any second instalment of 'Chennai Express'.

The film will be premiered on television tomorrow.

The actor said director Rohit Shetty and his co-star Deepika deserved awards for 'Chennai Express'.

"She (Deepika) looks beautiful. She is very hardworking and a good actress. She was amazing in 'Cocktail', 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani'. Deepika has done a good job. She made the film (Chennai Express) lovable and hit through her role as she represented south India," he said.

Shah Rukh Khan will be seen with Deepika in Farah Khan's 'Happy New Year' along side Abhishek Bachchan, Vivan Shah, Sonu Sood and Boman Irani.

"Farah has said dancing in this film will be difficult. We are working on this film and its great fun," he added.

Shah Rukh Khan also rubbished reports of his playing a Gujarati don in Farhan Akhtar's next film.
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who kept his fans waiting for two and a half hours at the celebration of LUX Chennai Express Contest event here, apologized when he finally came, saying he was unwell.

"I am extremely sorry for coming late. My apologies to the media people. I am not well...I have flu...I was bed-ridden. I have been travelling a lot...but thanks for all your patience," the mega star told reporters, apologizing profusely.

"I don't get tired very soon, but today I am a bit unwell. I have fever and may be because I didn't sleep last night..."

The event was scheduled at 3.30 p.m but the actor arrived at the venue at 6.00 p.m.

Meanwhile the actor, who is also shooting for the film "Happy New Year", says the film is not a solo hero film.

"'Happy New Year' is not a SRK starrer film. We have an ensemble cast and that is the speciality of the film. Its not a solo hero film," he said.

Asked if he is playing a Gujarati don in Farhan Aktar's next release, he said: "No I am not...I have read the script but nothing is finalised."
The Bombay High Court said it cannot order quashing of the police case against actress Sana Khan for alleged involvement in the kidnapping of a minor girl as the evidence shows that her car was used in the crime.

The division bench of Justices S C Dharmadhikari and Gautam Patel was hearing a petition filed by Sana Khan, seeking quashing of the case registered by the neighbouring Navi Mumbai police.

"How can you say you are not connected when your BMW vehicle has been used? How can we quash this complaint?" the bench said.

The actress, who rose to fame after her stint in the sixth edition of reality show 'Bigg Boss', was granted anticipatory bail by a lower court in June. Naved and three of his friends were arrested.

Sana Khan, who will be seen opposite actor Salman Khan in the upcoming film 'Mental', has denied the allegations.

Additional public prosecutor Purnima Kantharia said that investigation was almost over and chargesheet would be filed within a week. Following this, Sana's lawyer, advocate Ashok Sarogi, sought to withdraw the petition.

The court allowed it, saying that if Sana Khan was named as an accused in the chargesheet, "then she may adopt alternate remedies available to challenge it".

According to Sanpada police, Khan's nephew Naved Khan (18) and the 15-year-old complainant girl became friends on social network in November, and then started meeting. After a few months Naved proposed a marriage to her but the girl refused.

On April 30, when the girl was returning home in Sanpada, Naved, riding in BMW driven by Sana and accompanied by three of his friends, caught up with her. They allegedly tried to drag her in, but she managed to escape.
Sonam Kapoor is making headlines for her marriage plans. Her father Anil Kapoor went on record saying how her mother has set the criteria for an ideal son-in-law. The actress now says that...
Mumbai: Actress Rani Mukherjee says she feels the void left by the demise of filmmaker Yash Chopra but does not like to talk about him in past tense.

"I don`t like to talk about Yash uncle in past tense. He is a living legend and will always be there in our hearts and lives," Rani said.

She was speaking at a function where the inaugural National Yash Chopra Memorial Award was presented to legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar here last night. Chopra`s wife Pamela was also present.

"She (Mangeshkar) is the most deserving recipient of the award. They had an emotional connect," the Bollywood actress said.

"It has been a year since Yash uncle passed away, but the young generation will remember him through this award and his films," said Rani with her voice choked with emotion.

Mangeshkar was down with fever and doctors had advised her rest, but she still came for the function. This speaks volumes about her, she said.

The award has been instituted by a foundation led by industrialist-politician T Subbarami Reddy, who has produced Hindi films like `Vijay`, `Chandni` and `Lamhe`.
Mumbai: Actress Priyanka Chopra, who has done an item song in Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s `Ram Leela`, describes it as a modern mujra which has Indian vibes with a western touch.

"The song is very different and special because I am a huge fan of Mr. Bhansali. It`s a modern mujra which you all have not seen for a long time. It`s a mujra, but modern. It`s got Indian music and vibes, but still western and contemporary.

“It has got a different look, different form of dancing and I didn’t have time to rehearse. I used to rehearse at night," Priyanka told reporters here.

Aishwarya Rai was reportedly approached for the item song before Priyanka.

`Ram Leela` features Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in the lead.

New Delhi: Time and again we come across certain cases of fraudulent companies, who dupe in investors but are nowhere to be seen later. This time, it was none other than Bollywood actor Akshaye Khanna who had been conned by a fraudster couple.

According to a tabloid, the 38-year-old actor has registered a case against a husband wife duo, who persuaded him in investing Rs 50 lakh in their company- Intex Immijet- back in 2010, in return for a double amount after just a year.

After two years of time, Khanna, who was tired of the couple ignoring his calls and postponing the date for payment, finally submitted an application to the Economic Offences Wing.

It is said that Khanna had met the couple first time at a party in September 2010, where the duo- Satyabrata and Shona Chakrabarti befriended him and duped him to invest the large sum.

The actor registered the case against the company with the Malabar Hill police station initially, after which it was transferred to the EOW (crime branch).

“They told Akshaye that their firm is a profit-generating one but needs some capital,” a source said.

The EOW, who after investigating into the matter for a month and questioning the accused, has lodged a First Information Report with the Malabar Hill police station and got it transferred to the crime branch.

“We received a complaint from Khanna a month ago after which we did our investigation. We also interrogated the two accused, following which we found enough reasons to register a case. On Friday night a complaint was registered with the Malabar Hill police station,” Additional Commissioner of Police Rajvardhan Sinha (EOW) said,

According to the reports, though the accused have been booked under Section 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) and 120 (B) (conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code, no one has been arrested till now.
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who was recently blessed with baby boy AbRam through surrogacy, says every day sees festivity at home because of AbRam.

"Everyday is special after AbRam has come home. His health is good now and I am really happy for him. Everyday is festivity at home because of AbRam," SRK told reporters at an event.
Television actress Shilpa Agnihotri, who was evicted from `Bigg Boss - Saath 7` house, feels inmates fight too much and she was voted out as she failed to generate meaty content. But given a chance she won`t mind re-entering the house.

The actress, who had entered the house with her husband actor Apoorva Agnihotri, was evicted Saturday.

"Everyone felt that my eviction was very unexpected. I feel that maybe I did not give enough content which was why I was evicted," Shilpa said in a telephonic interview from Mumbai.

"The minute they ask me for a wild card entry, I am more than willing to go...at least till the time my husband is there.

"I feel so bad that I am here without him. I will probably cry when I go home...I will continue to watch the show at least till the time my husband is there," added the actress seen in shows like `Lavanya` and `Kyunki... Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi`.

Talking about the `Bigg Boss` experience, she said that she was shocked to see how much people fight.

"Apoorva and I have been married for so many years. We hardly ever fight. Even if we start to argue, we stop within five minutes. But I realised how much people love to fight in the `Bigg Boss` house," she said.

"I just detest fights," she added.

The house was initially divided into `hell` and `heaven` segments and while Shilpa was placed in the heaven side, Apoorva was in hell.

"We had imagined the two sides to be very different. We thought we will just not be able to see each other. But it was not so. We could talk, hug and kiss each other. Plus we knew if we performed well, there was a chance we could be together," she said.

Now Gauhar Khan, Kushal Tandon, Tanisha Mukherjee, Armaan Kohli, Asif Azim, Sangram Singh, Elli Avram, Pratyusha Banerjee and Viveik Mishra,VJ Andy, Kamya Punjabi and Apoorva are in the `Bigg Boss - Saath 7`.
How ambitions to make it big in Bollywood allegedly forced some telly actors to tout about non-existent plum film offers...

Many of our successful television actors started their acting careers on the small screen. The likes of Rajeev Khandelwal, Irrfan Khan, Manoj Bajpayee, Prachi Desai and Ayushmann Khurrana first tasted success with their telly appearances before trying their hands in the film industry.

But for some television actors, the temptation to make it big in B-town soon after receiving their maiden film offer, sometimes had them end up with a foot-in-the-mouth syndrome. And some even went to the extent of fuelling rumours about apparently non-existing film offers, only hoping it grabbed a few eyeballs in their favour.

The telly actor supposedly received a plum offer to be part of Ajay Devgn's 'Singham 2'. Drashti, who recently won the sixth season of 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa', was apparently flooded with film offers but sources close to her said she had to reject all of them to carry on with her commitment to her other telly project, 'Madhubala'. The director of the film, Rohit Shetty, however, squashed the rumours.

Neil Nitin Mukesh
Films: Lafangey Parindey, David, Shortcut Romeo, 3G
Actor's take: `I believe that kissing scenes should be shot well. Moreover, there's a lot of hype around such scenes, which is unnecessary. They have been happening in our films since quite some time.`

Impact: Neil's kissing scenes with Monica Dogra in David and Sonal Chauhan in 3G made some news. However, they did nothing to boost his career commercially. With the actor's last three films tanking at the box office, Neil seems to need a new mantra to attract film buffs.

Emraan Hashmi
Films: Murder, Aashiq Banaya Apne, Murder, Zeher, Aksar to name a few
Actor's take: `A perfect kiss is the one that's truly felt. The timing is also very important,` the actor had said.

Impact: Many consider the actor as Bollywood's original kissing star. Taking into account, the success of his films with the masses, Emraan's efforts didn't go in vain. Since last two years, he has leveraged his mass appeal to get varied roles in some critically acclaimed films like The Dirty Picture and Shanghai.

Arunoday Singh
Films: Yeh Saali Zindagi, Mirch and Jism 2
Actor's take: `My parents get amused when they read about my shenanigans,` says the actor who comes from a politicalfamily.

Impact: It was his 22 kisses in Sudhir Mishra's Yeh Saali Zindagi that got Arunoday into the limelight. He followed it up with intimate scenes with Sunny Leone in Jism 2. However, the kisses didn't help as critics panned him.

Films: Vicky Donor and Nautanki Saala
Actor's take: `I think it's okay to do kissing scenes as long as your partner is okay with it. It's just acting, after all.`

Impact: Ayushmann's kissing scene in Vicky Donor did not hit headlines but his passionate smooch with Pooja Salvi in Nautanki Saala was talked about. Since then, the actor's career has been moving at a steady pace.

Films: Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, Jism 2, Murder 3, Bombay Talkies, John Day

Actor's take: `I find it tougher to do emotional scenes than intimate ones. They are comparatively easier.`

Impact: It was Randeep's sizzling chemistry with Mahie Gill in Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster that got him a distinct image. The actor went on to bag films like Jism 2 and Murder 3 that had the element of erotica. In between, the actor has also done films like Jannat 2 and Cocktail, which did not have much scope for romance. The actor's no-holds barred attitude seems to be working for him.

Shilpa Shetty and businessman Raj Kundra's Juhu residence was robbed earlier this week, said police officials here. An expensive music system and an iPod were missing from the house

A tablet and a music system collectively valued at Rs 1.10 lakh were stolen from Juhu residence of actress Shilpa Shetty and her businessman husband Raj Kundra on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday, police said today.

Shilpa's manager has lodged a complaint at Juhu police station that an iPod and iPad were missing from the ground floor gym of Kinara apartments on Wednesday morning.

The police is investigating the matter. "An FIR has been filed by her house manager on October 16. We have not caught anyone so far, but the investigations are on," an official from the Juhu police station here said.

The couple occupy the ground and the first floor of the building. While the ground floor is converted into a gym, the first floor is the residential part.

According to police, Raj used the instruments in the gym on Tuesday night and but could not find them the next day.

The investigators are scanning the CCTV footages of the building but in vain. No breakthrough has been achieved so far, police said.

It's a classic case of jumping the gun. Reports that Katrina Kaif have joined Ranbir Kapoor for a holiday abroad are not only false but also damaging to the very professional actress' reputation.

Says a friend of Katrina's, `This image of a love-stuck kitten who follows her loved one everywhere he goes is just not Katrina. She truly resents the attempt to make her appear like a love-lorn Radha chasing her Krishna. `

Shooting down reports that she was holidaying with Ranbir the friend says, `Katrina has just completed one of her toughest roles in Dhoom 3. She is now getting ready for another big challenge. Kabir Khan's new film has her playing a role that would demand high- velocity stunts from her. She would have to train along with Saif for the action scenes in Beirut. `

Katrina leaves for Beirut on 19 October to start shooting from October 20.

Kabir Khan who has shot earlier in Afghanistan has again selected a rugged volatile location.

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala who is recuperating from a lower-back injury would also be joining Saif and Katrina and Kabir Khan in Beirut.

Incidentally Katrina is Sajid Nadiadwala's rakhi-sister from the time when she was in a relationship with his best friend Salman. This is the first time he would be working with Katrina.
It's final now. Salman Khan's new film which opens on 24 January would be titled Jai Ho.

Confirming this the film's director Sohail Khan says, `Yes, the film is entitled Jai Ho. Mental was only a working title. We always knew we'd change it. Jai Ho was a title that my father liked. Now by the grace of God, we're all set to release on Jan 24. `

A source close to the film says the title was seen to be apt for the occasion. `Mental was suggested by Salman. And everyone kinda liked it.

But when the release date was fixed on Jan 24 Salim Saab felt the title needed to be more pertinent. Everyone suggested something patriotic to go with the Republic Day release. The film conveys a message about eradicating corruption and Salman plays a social crusader.

Jai Ho would pitch Salman as a hero of the masses in a socially relevant theme. `
Once good friends Pratyusha, Kamya and Armaan have been recently staying apart and not talking to each other in the 'Bigg Boss Saath 7' house

After Tanishaa and Shilpa sorted out their differences, Pratyusha decides to speak to Armaan to resolve the problems between them. In the evening, when Armaan was sitting alone in the garden area, Pratyusha goes up to him.

She tells him that she is feeling sad that they have been best pals and now because of Tanishaa, there has been a rift in their friendship. She also tells him that since the day Tanishaa has become close to him; he has started being indifferent to her and Kamya.

Armaan tells her that they are unnecessarily blaming Tanishaa and it was his decision to stay away from them. He did not like the way he was being portrayed as a person and hence decided to take a step back.

When Pratyusha tells him that he has also changed as a person, Armaan reasons it out by saying that he wants to stay alone for some time.

Pratyusha talks to Kamya about her discussion with Armaan. Kamya says that she too has been concerned about Armaan and does not like seeing him staying aloof and distant all the time.

Looks like Armaan is putting all his relationships at stake for Tanishaa.
