Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is keen to work with internationally acclaimed composer A.R. Rahman and he is awaiting for an opportunity to collaborate with the Oscar winner.
Rahman launched his new album "Raunaq" Thursday and Salman, who graced the occasion, asked Rahman: "When will you work for us?"
When asked about Salman's desire, Rahman said: "Then he has to do movies which I like."
Does that mean you don't like Salman's films?
"No, no. I like his stuff, they are so energetic and nice," Rahman said.

"We worked together in 'Yuvvraaj' and its music has been a hit. I think life is a cycle... hopefully, we will do something extraordinary," he added.
Rahman's compositions in his latest release "Highway" are being appreciated.
From a rather dark and serious drive on a ‘Highway’, Alia Bhatt has now quickly moved on to a much brighter journey via ’2 States’. The journey has become all the more enjoyable for the petite actress, courtesy presence of Arjun Kapoor who is no more in a ‘gunday’ company and has turned all sweet and simple with a great sense of humor to boast.
“That’s true. Not many know but Arjun’s sense of humor is really quite interesting. It isn’t of the usual kind like everyone else. He has a very sarcastic way of cracking a joke and you need to be really alert about when and where he says something. You need to pick it up quick,” says Alia who spent quite some time with the Kapoor scion during the making of this Sajid Nadiadwala-Karan Johar flick.
Carrying a special place for Arjun in her heart, Alia adds, “There isn’t any single anecdote or incident that I can quote around his humorous streak because there are so many of those. I can’t pick and choose one. All I can say is that right through the film’s shoot; it was a breeze because he made me laugh so much.”
There wasn’t much laughter though during the making of her recent release ‘Highway’. However the appreciation that has come her way for the film has more than made up for the lack of on-screen smiles.
“‘Highway’ was a very difficult film for me. It always had a very special place in my heart though. It wasn’t a conscious decision for me to pick a de-glam film after ‘Student of the Year’. It just happened, though I am glad it turned out to be my second film,” says Alia, “Now with ’2 States’, there is going to be a lot more laughter ahead.”
Nargis on Varun Dhawan: We hit it off immediately. Varun went to college abroad. We had a lot in common.
No films, no commitments, not even the captaincy of the CCL. Suniel Shetty has put aside his entire career and priorities for his father’s sake. To make sure his ailing father is comfortable, Suniel Shetty has converted an entire flank of his home in South Mumbai into an ICU.
At the moment nothing matters more to the worried son than his father’s health.
Sighs Suniel, “I haven’t had a proper night’s sleep for three months now. It’s a very mixed kind of feeling for me. On one hand, my daughter Aathiya is getting ready for her film career. On the other hand my father is very unwell. So the excitement of Aathiya’s debut is sadly diminished. At the moment we’re all focusing on looking after my father.”
This is the reason Suniel Shetty has not been playing the CCL matches. “I haven’t been able to practice for the matches. So how can I play? In fact I cancelled my flight to Hyderabad on the morning of the game this week. Aftab Shivdasani who is the vice-captain is far more familiar with the one-day format of the game. I do play cricket. But I belong to the old test-match style of cricket.”
Suniel is aghast about the stories that he had an on-field fracas with Aftab. “How can I ‘come to blows’ with anyone, least of all a guy as sweet and gentle as Aftab? It is very embarrassing to read such stories, especially at a time when I am going through a personal crisis. Right now nothing is more important to me than my father’s health.”
Suniel is in fact saying no to movie offers. “There will be many opportunities for work later. The time spent with my father now is much more vital and valuable.”
Suniel is not the least perturbed about his precious darling daughter’s shooting schedules outside Mumbai. “I know she’s in completely safe hands. Salman Khan’s production crew is like family to us. They look after both Aathiya and Sooraj like their own children.”
Suniel gives Salman a pat on the back for standing by Sooraj. “Salman instinctively knew the boy was being victimized. He stood by Sooraj, insisting that he will make ‘Hero’ only with Sooraj and Aathiya. I think it requires courage to stand by people in this industry.”
After hearing the latest goss about AK, we wonder if the Dhoom:3 actor is being extra cautious before the second season of Satyamev Jayate is aired on TV
A little birdie tells us that Aamir Khan has paid Rs. 10 Crores for his own safety. Reportedly, the actor has bought a bullet and explosive proof Mercedes Benz S600 worth that amount, which makes him the owner of the most expensive car in B-town. By purchasing this ‘special protection’ car, Aamir has joined the likes of industrialist Mukesh Ambani and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who own the same model of Mercedes. Though the actor has denied receiving any security threats earlier, our birdie tells us that he has bought this car due to a series of security threats.

So why did Aamir buy this bomb-proof car? Well, the Dhoom:3 actor had received threats after the first season of Satyamev Jayate, in which he had openly talked about a lot of sensitive topics. And we hear that the second schedule of Satyamev Jayate which will go on air from March 2nd may deal with topics such as governance, corruption and the Lok Sabha Elections 2014. Of course, he is bound to receive more threats post the airing of such episodes, no? Though Aamir was reluctant to purchase a bomb-proof car, we hear that his family and friends convinced him to order it.

A lot of people own bullet proof cars, but Aamir Khan has been recently spotted in a customised bomb-proof car. We wonder if the showmakers of Satyamev Jayate want their host to take this extra precaution as they fear more threats post the show is aired. Or is this a marketing gimmick? They are bound to instill more curiosity in the audience’s mind about this season’s subjects by portraying that Aamir is likely to receive more security threats, hai na? Well, let’s watch the second season of Satyamev Jayate and then decide if such a measure was actually necessary. What say
The sports drama film has hit the theatres and here’s the verdict
In India, the fate of a sport lies in the hands of those with power and political influence. Only those who are privileged get to represent the country in a respective sport while the rest have to struggle entire lifetime to even get an opportunity.

Director Arivazhagan’s second directorial Vallinam, which while addressing the aforementioned points, also highlights the discrimination between sports and sportsmen and shows how a certain sport like cricket has been glorified. Although it might not be as powerfully engaging as Bollywood movie Chak De! India, the film has the spirit to celebrate sportsmanship.

An unfortunate accident during an inter-collegiate basketball tournament forces Krishna (Nakul) to quit playing the game for good and relocate to another city. From Trichy, he moves to Chennai, hoping to forget the incident and start life afresh.

But call it destiny or fate; he’s forced to play again, but this time to stop his college management from destroying their basketball court to make way for the extension of the cricket ground for the upcoming national level cricket championship, to be hosted by the college.

You can find inspiration from films such as Lagaan, Chak De! India and several sports-based dramas of the recent past in Vallinam, but it manages to maintain some originality in the execution. It might not be a great film, but considering the fact that we don’t have many sports-based films in Tamil, this is a great effort.

Even with a jagged screenplay that only gains momentum in the second half, the film manage keeps you hooked for the most part of the running time.

You root for the film when you realize that the actors took the effort to get trained in basketball, portraying the commitment with which they have prepared. Some of the best moments of the film unfold in the court, in between the game and when the ball spins in slow motion on the rim of the basket.

The tension that’s accentuated through these moments is testimonial to the fact that the film has succeeded in entertaining the audience. But what’s worrisome is whether the film will be embraced by all, irrespective of the fact that it has a college campus as backdrop and it’s quite natural to assume it’s made for college students.

Vallinam never tries to convince us that basketball is a better game than cricket. It reminds us that cricket is not the only sport that deserves to be celebrated in a country where we have other equally popular sports as well. In this process, it gets little preachy at regular intervals with dialogues that are purposely written for commercial reasons, but it is understandable from the point of a view of catering to the masses.

Nakul gives his career’s best performance. He proves that a hero can step out of the commercial zone and take up roles that can still be liked by audience. Debutant Mrudhula will shine with proper guidance while the rest of the cast members are good in their respective roles.

For a change, Thaman’s music doesn’t make you cringe in your seats. His background score syncs well with the second half, while Bhaskaran’s celluloid captures the best shots during the basketball games.
London: `Beetlejuice` star Winona Ryder says she once wore a dress worth USD 10 at the Oscars
The 42-year-old star said she is fond of vintage clothes and is an avid bargain hunter, reported Aceshowbiz.
"Most of my wardrobe is vintage and I`ve worn dresses to the Oscars that I got for USD 10," she said.
The actor said she even recycles outfits she has previously worn to events.
"At Sean Penn`s last Haiti gala I wore this vintage dress that I`d worn to a film premiere in 2005. I know that`s kind of a no-no in the fashion world, but why wear something just once if you love it?" she said.
Mumbai:Megastar Shah Rukh Khan and actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar were honoured at the 6th Mirchi Music Awards here.
The event, organised by Radio Mirchi, was held Thursday.

Mumbai: Actress Sonam Kapoor`s daring bikini shot in `Bewakoofiyaan` may have raised some eyebrows, but her father Anil Kapoor was unfazed. In fact, he said it would get the film a "good opening".

"He knew about that (the bikini shot)! My dad is an artist and he is very open-minded...actually he was the one who encouraged me to become an actress. He didn`t say anything, he just said the film will get a good opening," Sonam said at a press conference for the film`s promotion here Friday.

The tall actress, who was once on the heavier side on the weighing scale, says she didn`t have to go through much stress and strain to look fit enough for a bikini scene.

"I didn`t have to work hard because I am playing a regular girl in the film. I have a tendency to put on weight but my routine was the same for this film. You will not see me as a movie star in this movie as I am playing a regular girl," she said.

While there has been a lot of talk on whether Sonam has been able to pull off the two-piece garment, she says she always knew about the scene and she was comfortable with it.

"When I signed the film, it was my idea. I was briefed that there is a pool there and I have to wear swimsuit. I said my body is lean, and it is thin on the waist...so let`s just show that. If you see the shot...unlike the shots in films like `Dhoom` or `Race`, cameras are not panned on the body.

"It`s a normal shot where I am wearing a swimsuit and jump into the pool," she added.

Directed by Nupur Asthana, `Bewakoofiyaan` also features Ayushmann Khurrana.
Kangana Ranaut is the true story of struggle in Bollywood. She was critically praised for her debut in `Gangster` in 2006, and was one of the most promising faces then. But somehow, despite her acting talent, she was overtaken by the likes of Katrina and Deepika as the favoured leading ladies of Bollywood.

Most critics would agree that she is highly underutilised in Hindi cinema. However things seem to be turning around for the beautiful actress as her recent movies have started doing well. More and more film makers have been signing her for lead roles. After `Tanu Weds Manu`, and `Rajjo`, the award winning actress is set to star in `Queen`.

Actresses Dia Mirza, Sonakshi Sinha and Richa Chadha posted on Twitter about the movie:
