John Abraham has said that he plans to direct a big-budget film starring unknown actors.
The Madras Café star, who recently turned producer for the national award winning Vicky Donor, explained that he wanted to support new talent in the industry.
Speaking to The Times of India, he said: "I will direct a big budget film with newcomers. I don't know why studios don't make big budget films with newcomers! We need to support them.
"Why do we only make big budget films with only top five actors? Why aren't we getting mature? We all need to come out of that.
"I want to direct films. Whenever the right time comes, I will get into it."
The 40-year-old recently marked his tenth anniversary in the industry as an actor.
In February, the star said that he felt he had to prove himself to critics because of his background as a model. He also expressed his ambition to direct a film starring Shah Rukh Khan.
Abraham reportedly has plans to open up his production company in London.
