Director Kabir Khan, whose last film Ek Tha Tiger revolved around the life of a RAW agent, is all set to cast Saif Ali Khan in a film about post 26/11 counter-terrorism.

The film will be written by crime journalist S Hussain Zaidi, whose books have earlier been the basis of Anurag Kashyap’s Black Friday and Sanjay Gupta’s Shootout At Wadala.

This will not Saif's first film on global terrorism -- he had played a terrorist in Rensil d’Silva’s Kurbaan.

In Kabir’s film, Saif will cross over to the other side.

"Saif plays a counter-terrorist deputed to tackle a post-26/11 scenario," says a source. "It's a kind of extension to Salman Khan’s RAW agent’s role in Ek Tha Tiger but the politics of this film would be far more topical."

The film will be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, and will co-star Katrina Kaif.

Says the source, "It’s a different world for Saif and Sajid Nadiadwala. Sajid has only done mass entertainers so far."
