Known for his business acumen, Shah Rukh Khan apparently is in the process of acquiring the rights of his films
While the star these days prefers to produce his own films, he has done plenty under different production banners. To kick-start the process, SRK has apparently already purchased the rights of the television series Idiot (1982) and the feature film Chaahat (1996), in which he played the lead role.

Says a source, `SRK wants to buys the rights of most of the films he has worked in. He has already started the process and has been speaking to producers. He has finished his deal with Robin Bhatt who had produced the Mahesh Bhatt directed SRK-Pooja Bhatt starrer Chaahat. In fact, this was the only film that Robin Bhatt had produced and that too on SRK's insistence.`

Bhatt confirms having finalised the deal with Shah Rukh. He says, `The necessary formalities will be done soon. In fact, SRK had been telling me about it since the past 10 years but I wasn't ready about it back than. He has given me a very good price as well.` Shah Rukh has acted in more than 40 films before he turned a producer himself.

Looking ahead
Akshay Kumar too is known to harbour similar preferences. Insiders say that Akki puts a clause in his films for acquiring the rights of the movie after a period of 12-15 years
