Mumbai: Ranveer Singh made a million hearts skip a beat as the next-door college boy in Yash Raj Films’ ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ and has since then been the talk of the town.
The young man with unconventional looks has made headlines for all the good and the naughty reasons and is certainly here to stay.
2013 saw the talented new kid essay two diametrically opposite roles in ‘Lootera’ and ‘Ram-Leela’. In Vikramaditya Motwane’s period film, set in the backdrop of Bengal of the 1950s, Ranveer showed maturity and put up a performance worth wolf-whistle. Right from his appearance to his body language, Ranveer Singh looked every bit of a gentleman of the era.
And in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Goliyon ki Rasleela Ram-Leela’, Singh came across as a flamboyant young man who belonged to a clan that spoke the language of bullets.
In 2014, Ranveer will be back on the silver screen as the bad boy of the 1970s in ‘Gunday’ which is slated to release February 14.
The young man has taken up challenging roles early in his career and surprised one and all. He has succeeded in his endeavours so far and has all the potential of clinching the top spot.
So, the big question is whether or not Ranveer Singh is the next ‘big thing’ in Bollywood?
