A film with a title can Gunday isn't quite befitting for a Valentine's Day release.

But it's all possible for Yash Raj Films, and it's already got a favourable buzz.

Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor have already shown us that their chemistry is rocking. With Priyanka Chopra and Irrfan Khan adding the tadka, director Ali Abbas Zafar (of Mere Brother Ki Dulhan fame) may soon get the hit he needs.
Here's a whole range of movies coming up in a theatre near you in 2014. Here's a look.
Dedh Ishqiya

Madhuri, Madhuri and more of Madhuri -- this is what is expected in the comeback film of the diva, who ruled the film industry in the 1980s and 1990s.

Her first comeback Aaja Nachle in 2007 was a damp squib but with brand Ishqiya expected to create curiosity, one looks forward to what producer Vishal Bhardwaj and director Abhishek Chaubey have devised for Madhuri.

Dedh Ishqiya will be the first biggie of the year.

Though comparisons with Vidya Balan's Ishqiya are unavoidable, Madhuri is expected to work her magic again, with Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi. The film also stars Huma Qureshi.
It’s been a truly solid year, one where we don’t just have 10 movies worth applauding -- compared to most years where I have to cobble together lists full of caveats -- but, incredibly enough, we now have more films that deserve a special mention.

For me, the films that almost made it to the list were Bombay Talkies, D Day, Kai Po Che and Special 26.

They each tick intriguing boxes with novelty and vigour, and would certainly have made the cut in a lesser year.

But 2013’s been gracious to the moviegoer.

This has been a tough list to rank, and what stands out for me is the fact that it is studded with genuinely extraordinary directorial debuts, with almost half the films on this list made by first-timers.
Mumbai: It’s a brand New Year and as always, Bollywood has something new in store for you. 2013 saw a number of films breaking old records and creating new ones. And the industry heavyweights- Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan- made the most of the Box Office collections with their releases- ‘Chennai Express’, ‘Dhoom 3’ and ‘Krrish 3’ respectively.
.Dabangg’ superstar Salman Khan didn’t have a single release last year but returns to the silver screen in 2014 with ‘Jai Ho’.

The aforementioned film also starring the very talented Tabu is slated to release January 24.

But prior to that, fans of cult film ‘Sholay’ can rejoice the re-release of film in a 3D avatar on January 3.

Moving ahead, we have Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Dedh Ishqiya’ featuring stalwart Naseeruddin Shah, dancing diva Madhuri Dixit, the flamboyant Arshad Warsi and the very talented Huma Qureshi. The sequel to ‘Ishqiya’ will hit the screen on January 10.

Apart from these two big releases, a number of other non-superstar films and small budget films are slated to make it to the silver screen.

‘Mr Joe B. Carvalho’, ‘Ugly’, ‘Dishkiyaaoon’, ‘Total Siyappa’ and a few others are expected to make an impact at the Box Office.

Which film are you looking forward to the most?
New Delhi: If all goes well, the Bollywood box office will belong to Shah Rukh Khan this Diwali -- his much-awaited film `Happy New Year` is scheduled for an Oct 23 release.
An official source said: "`Happy New Year` will be a Diwali release."

It will be officially announced through the film`s first poster, which will be launched Thursday on the movie`s social media pages - Twitter and Facebook.

`Happy New Year`, directed by Farah Khan and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt Ltd., is being positioned uniquely as a musical heist.

The film also stars Deepika Padukone, Boman Irani, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah.

Farah and Shah Rukh`s past associations in films like `Main Hoon Na` and `Om Shanti Om` have turned out to be gold spinners.

They are doing every bit to spread the right kind of buzz about `Happy New Year`.

The film`s social media platforms have been very active and their first topic `wacky wishes` has been trending on Twitter.

Also, a huge social media campaign has been set around the launch of the first poster of the film. The lead actors are actively participating in the campaign for the first poster launch.
Mumbai: Ranveer Singh made a million hearts skip a beat as the next-door college boy in Yash Raj Films’ ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ and has since then been the talk of the town.
The young man with unconventional looks has made headlines for all the good and the naughty reasons and is certainly here to stay.

2013 saw the talented new kid essay two diametrically opposite roles in ‘Lootera’ and ‘Ram-Leela’. In Vikramaditya Motwane’s period film, set in the backdrop of Bengal of the 1950s, Ranveer showed maturity and put up a performance worth wolf-whistle. Right from his appearance to his body language, Ranveer Singh looked every bit of a gentleman of the era.

And in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Goliyon ki Rasleela Ram-Leela’, Singh came across as a flamboyant young man who belonged to a clan that spoke the language of bullets.

In 2014, Ranveer will be back on the silver screen as the bad boy of the 1970s in ‘Gunday’ which is slated to release February 14.

The young man has taken up challenging roles early in his career and surprised one and all. He has succeeded in his endeavours so far and has all the potential of clinching the top spot.

So, the big question is whether or not Ranveer Singh is the next ‘big thing’ in Bollywood?
With the year kick starting on a promising note of impressive releases, I knew 2013 would turn out to be special at the movies.

And it has.

The craze for box office supremacy is getting more ridiculous by the day and formula-driven folk will not stop remaking South Indian potboilers at any rate yet there’s also a growing audience for out-of-the-box, unorthodox and uncompromised cinema.

On that note, it’s time to honour the ones that struck a chord and made a difference with my pick of this year’s 10 Best Films. Again, in no particular order.

P:S: Don’t forget to post your list on the message board below.

Lootera

There’s an obvious radiance and detailing in the manner director Vikramaditya Motwane creates an ambiance of a bygone era, lingering melancholy and poetic quietude -- most effectively through Sonakshi Sinha’s pensive eyes, perceptive lips and wispy voice.

Equally attractive is the throbbing complexity of a star-crossed relationship that serves as a fine build-up till Lootera decides to resemble O Henry’s short story (The Last Leaf) and stir the viewer with its final grand gesture.
Several Bollywood stars turned to Twitter to tweet prayers for seven-time F1 champion Michael Schumacher, who met with a skiing accident in the French Alps.
Shah Rukh Khan, who has been busy shooting for Farah Khan’s Happy New Year, has taken some time off to spend time with family.

‘At times I do good things & at times the opposite... last two days I have done nothing. Dormant languid lazy….it’s a nice new feeling,’ the 48-year-old actor tweeted.

But earlier, he took a break from 'being lazy' and went club-hopping with son Aryan. ‘This year love like the sea. Give life to all & let them thrive within ur universe & still remain larger, deeper & able 2 replenish yourself. And now for some what the kids refer to as EDM. I thought it was scientific abbreviation…works out it means electronic dance music… Anonymity & club hopping with the boys. Fun but I am too young for all this. Gimme a few yrs & I will paint so many towns in so many colours,’ he added.

‘And as cheesy as it may sound….but this 31st most of the people in the world will say the name of our new film as a greeting!!! Happy New Year...’ he signed off.
Bollywood celebrities are getting ready to say goodbye to 2013 and hello to 2014! Here’s what they said:

Lara Dutta: ‘Taking off with the family for the end of the year! Wishing all of you a super, bumper 2014! Thank you for being
