What do you expect when a star like Aamir Khan is in town? Frenzy. Yes, Dilli Haat at INA was literally in a state of frenzy over the past two days with the cast and crew of Raj Kumar Hirani’s forthcoming film P.K., including Aamir Khan, making a pit stop to shoot some major sequences

To catch a glimpse of Aamir, who’s known to be very guarded about his looks before his films release, we made a quiet visit to Dilli Haat, and as expected, his large security crew warned us in curt Marathi not to cross the barriers of the makeshift set that was set up around 25-30 shops at the fag end of the establishment, near the food plazas. Visitors were not even allowed to buy stuff from these shops.
“Subah se bouni nahi hui. Humein `2000 karke diya hai par mera toh din mein `10,000 kamayi ho jaati hai, aur ab toh shaam ho gai,” rued a shopkeeper selling Gujarati bags. Another visitor shouted, “Subah 7 baje se tamasha laga rakhha hai, arre bolo tickets refund kare!”

Delhi Tourism officials, however, denied causing inconvenience. “It’s just a matter of a few hours and the crew has taken all due permissions,” said an official.

Dodging Aamir’s Marathi men, we parked ourselves in the Manipur stall and dug into some momos and as luck would have it, THAT was the very spot adjacent to which Aamir parked himself too, with paan-stained lips. In another shot we caught a glimpse of Khan sporting a yellow helmet, wearing a transistor like a sling bag, holding a bunch of yellow pamphlets, and chasing a behroopiya dressed like Shiva.
Actress Huma Qureshi has a strong hospitality background, but the "Gangs of Wasseypur" star admits that she is no expert when it comes to culinary skills.

The 27-year-old loves to eat and has fondness for cooking, but says her cooking is more for survival.

"I do like to cook, but I do more like survival cooking. Like today, when I visited home my nieces came over and they are about 10, 6 and 4. They wanted to eat something sweet. I told them that I would make them something very exotic.

"I cut pineapple into pieces and dipped them in melted chocolate and Milkmade and they thought I was Masterchef. I am a 'dhoka' cook," Huma told IANS.

Her father Saleem Qureshi owns a chain of restaurants here and her mother is said to be a good cook. She says her family believes in hospitality and they love to feed people and see smile on their face when they eat good food.

"An interesting mix of Mughlai and Kashmiri cuisines is prepared at my home. My dad is in the hospitality industry. My mother is also a fantastic cook. People used to always come to my place to eat Mughlai food," said Huma, who will be seen in "Dedh Ishqiya" in January 2014.

The movie directed by Abhishek Chaubey also stars Madhuri Dixit and Huma calls the "Dhak dhak" girl lovely.

"I am doing a film called 'Dhed Ishqiya'. It is scheduled to release in January... Madhuri is lovely. She is a wonderful co-star. I've always admired her. She is a very graceful woman. Both on and off screen. She is grounded and real and that makes her even more gorgeous," said "Ek Thi Daayan" star.

"If there is one thing I want to learn from her, it will be her dancing... and the way she smiles. If I can ever smile like that, I will be very happy," she added.
Rasam powder from Deepika Padukone's kitchen has made its way to several other Bollywood homes

Deepika Padukone swears by the rasam powder that lines the shelves of her kitchen cupboard. The Bangalore girl has it specially made as rasam rice is her favourite.

Those who have eaten at her home know the distinct taste of the spicy rasam from the star's kitchen. Says a source, `Guests who have savoured it say it is a treat for the tastebuds. So much so that the actress even shares the spicy rasam powder with her close ones in Mumbai.`

Adds the source, `Everyone who has had the dish at Deepika's home knows exactly why it is loved so much. It is made in big quantities as it is distributed to a whole list of people who request her for it. Anyone who has ever enjoyed the special rasam at her place, always adds their name to her rasam powder delivery list. Dippy's homemade rasam powder is flavourful minus the loaded preservatives that is available in stores.

The powder is made under the standing instructions of the actress. There is the right blend of the various ingredients like coriander seeds, dried red chillies, dal, cumin seeds and peppercorns. In fact, the star makes it a point that the rasam powder is delivered to her industry friends and other close pals regularly whenever a new stock is made.

Bollywood actors Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra tried new looks at the inauguration of the second Dessange Paris salon here.

The launch also saw the unveiling of Dessange Paris Autumn/Winter 2013 collection "Paradis Lunaire", which is characterised by deep and rich colours such as plums, purples and greys.

International celebrity stylist Claudia Zorko gave Alia an updo with intricate detailing and elegance.

"I love the look that Claudia and Christopher (makeup artist Christopher Picault) have designed for me. It is a high being styled by experts who have worked with some of the most beautiful women in the world," Alia said in a statement.

Even Sidharth was given styling in "Jude Law" spirit and casual makeup.

"The experts and stylists at Dessange are amazing. I have never been this pampered at a salon," he said.

Dessange Paris is headed by the Benjamin Dessange who has worked as a hairstylist himself.

Models Nina Manuel and Carol Gracias were also present at the launch.
John Abraham has one of the most fit bods in town. And for his upcoming film, 'Welcome Back', John had to lose 11 kilos and get on a strict diet to look his part. John's character is similar to the one played by Aamir Khan in Rangeela

Says a source, `John was required to shed some weight, which he had gained for his previous films.

He would eat after every two hours, drinking five litres of water every day and he worked out twice a day. He followed his routine for three months.` Director Anees Bazmee confirms, `We took a lot of time to design his look, especially his hair and styling.`

Apparently, Ranveer's dhoti came undone and dropped down to his feet on the sets of his upcoming film 'Ram Leela'

Several years ago, Ranbir Kapoor had famously dropped his towel in a scene from his debut film helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. And for SLB's upcoming film, Ram Leela, Ranveer Singh has done the same, well almost. Sources say in one of the scenes during the shoot, the actor's dhoti came undone and dropped down to his feet.

Insiders say Ranveer was extremely embarrassed by his Full Monty 'accident' that left nothing for imagination. A source says, `Ranveer is currently in hospital, recovering from dengue. In one of the scenes, Bhansali wanted him to look quite seductive. He made the actor wear his dhoti quite low. Unfortunately, his dhoti came loose and fell to the floor.`

And if that wasn't enough, the crew teased the actor through the rest of the day, and even apparently gifted him a pair of colourful underwear to drive the point home. The star's spokesperson said, `It is completely untrue.
The makers of the film have unveiled the new motion poster of the action flick and this time we get to see the entire cast
The new motion poster of 2013’s most awaited film Dhoom:3 is out and we aren’t highly impressed. Unlike the first motion poster where we only got a glimpse of Aamir Khan’s chiseled back, here the whole cast has been introduced. The promo has Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra, Katrina Kaif and lastly Aamir Khan. As soon as the promo starts, you see Aamir Khan on his bike flying from one end of the bridge to another. Though Mr Khan isn’t visible per say, it’s easy to figure out. Then comes in Abhishek, whose look has been consistent throughout the Dhoom series and we’re quite bored of it. Uday is back into his tapoori avatar which suits him well. Coming to Kat, the babe is trying hard to look sexy and up the oomph factor, but fails to sizzle. Also, in the close-up shot, Katrina’s lips look oddly fuller and it’s hard to miss, believe us. At the very end, you see Mr Perfectionist in cowboy-meets-macho man avatar. Looks like the makers wanted to save the best for the last!

Considering the anticipation for Dhoom:3, we feel let down yet again with the new motion poster. Now we just hope the movie doesn’t turn out to be as thanda as the posters that we have been seeing!
The actor as Langda Tyagi was far more fierce and impactful – our first impression of Bullett Raja’s first trailer
Saif Ali Khan-Sonakshi Sinha’s much awaited Tigmanshu Dhulia film Bullett Raja’s first look makes an impact more for its dialogue and rustic appeal, unfortunately the suave Saif still remains in his character of Raja Mishra. The Nawab also reminds us of Vivek Oberoi from Company. It is the background score that’s catchy – right from the opening of the trailer where you hear the roaring of the mean machine.

While Special 26 actor Jimmy Shergill manages to hold his own and even emerge tall in his brief supporting appearance in this trailer, even Tigmanshu Dhulia cannot pull Sonakshi Sinha out of the Dabangg mould. However Saif does manage to tickle your funny bone even in this rough-n-tough role.

Will we finally get to see a Langda Tyagi on screen again? Well, will have to wait and watch when the film releases.
Hrithik Roshan’s superhero flick was to release on November 4 earlier
Now we know how everyone is eagerly waiting to watch Krrish 3 and it looks like the makers of the film are leaving no stone unturned to please their fans. Why do we say so? Well, we have heard that, Krrish 3 which was earlier scheduled to release on November 4 this year has now been rescheduled to release on November 1.

Krrish 3, a sci-fi superhero flick is the third film of the Krrish series. The film is directed by Rakesh Roshan and stars Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Vivek Oberoi and Kangna Ranaut.

Confirming the release date, trade analyst Komal Nahta tweeted, “Very right decision taken by Rakesh Roshan. #Krrish3 will hit screens on Friday (Nov. 1), AND NOT Monday (Nov. 4) as originally planned.”
The popular actor from Sapane Suhane Ladakpan Ke took a stand against cyber bullying at the Be a Star Rally at the Andrews Auditorium
Roopal Tyagi aka Gunjan addressed 175 children (along with their parents) on the issue and shared the stage with WWE superstar Ryback.

The actor believes that the best way to avoid any kind of bullying is to talk to people whom we can trust, like our elders or parents. “I spoke to the kids about it, I explained to them what it is because most of them are only aware of verbal and physical bullying, they are not aware of cyber bullying,” said Roopal.

“I also told them how they can stop it, by talking to people they can trust, like teachers or parents or any elder,” she added.

The 23-year-old actor also shared that recently even she became a victim of cyber bullying, but she tried to confront it. “I am going through it right now. There are more than 100 fake IDs on my name on Twitter and Facebook. People are interacting with my fans and talking to them on my behalf, asking them to come and meet at so and so place. So, there was this fake ID where I posted that ‘why are you doing this?’ and ‘what will you get out of it?’,” Roopal said.

“I did not get a reply but yes, after that my fans are aware now that which is my real ID and which is the fake one, so now they will ignore them,” she added.

What did you advise the kids? “Apart from telling them to talk to their parents, I have asked them to be more open to them. I know that people don’t want to share their username and password with anyone, but they can have their parents on their friend list, so that they are aware of what is happening,” Roopal said.
Last week saw five releases -- Super Model, Warning, Prague, Maazii and Raqt- Ek Rishta -- at the box office. All of them bombed.
This star's parents are very talented actors. She's doing quite well too, as an actress, singer and composer.

She will seen next in Welcome Back, along with John Abraham, Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar.

The fourth edition of the six-day Jagran Film Festival came to an end on September 29 with an award function held at a suburban hotel in Mumbai.

Quite a few film personalities attended the show.
Kangna Ranaut will play a mujrawali in her forthcoming film Rajjo, set to release on the same day as Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone's Ramleela.

"Rajjo is really close to my heart and I am glad it is being released this festive season," says Kangna. "As for competition with other films, there would be one every week in any case. I am sure my producers are taking a good call and it comes from the trust and confidence they have in the product."
Mumbai: Actor Ranbir Kapoor has clarified that he is not playing Lord Shiva in the movie adaptation of the best selling novel `The Immortals of Meluha`.

There are rumours that filmmakers Karan Johar and Ayan Mukerji have chosen Ranbir to play Lord Shiva in the film. But the versatile actor said that it is not true.

"Yes, I read it in the newspapers that it is `The Immortals of Meluha`, but that is not true. It is completely untrue," Ranbir said here in an interview.

"I also read in the newspapers that we are doing that (film on `The Immortals of Meluha`) but we are not doing that," he added.

Karan has apparently bought the rights of `The Immortals of Meluha` from its author Amish Tripathi. The movie will be directed by Ayan and will go on the floors next year.

Meanwhile, Ranbir revealed that he is working with Ayan on another project which is still being scripted. He said it`s a superhero film.

"Ayan is still writing his film. The idea is to make a superhero film but I guess the script is not ready and I am not in a position to say anything," said the 31-year-old.

The actor is currently busy promoting his forthcoming film `Besharam`, slated to release Oct 2.

Mumbai: Soha Ali Khan, a graduate of Oxford University, chose to become an actress like her mother Sharmila Tagore. But she says her star mom is not happy with her choice of profession and wants her daughter to be a lawyer.

Soha, who holds a masters degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science, made her Bollywood debut with `Dil Maange More!!!` in 2004. Most of her movies didn`t do well at the box-office, but she was appreciated for her performance in movies like `Rang De Basanti` and `Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns`.

"My mother is still not happy with what I am doing. Even now she calls me each Sunday and says `You can still be a lawyer, it`s not too late. You must go to Harvard (university)`. She keeps saying `You have studied so much and you are not making use of it`.

"I`ve to tell her that I am really enjoying what I am doing. I am happy, but as a mother she is worried about her child... Her main concern is what I`ll do in the next 10 to 20 years," Soha said here.

Sharmila may have reservations about Soha`s career choice, but she is cool with her live-in relationship with her boyfriend Kunal Kemmu.

"She is actually very cool. I think she is cool, but she says `I am tired of telling you guys but you guys don`t listen to me. Now that you are grown up, there is no point in running after you guys`.

"My mum says `By this time you should`ve been a lawyer, married woman, should have two to three kids, but what are you guys doing?`"

"She is tired of saying this again and again; so now she has resigned to the fact that this is happening and she has no control over it," added the 34-year-old.

Soha also believes that by now people must be bored of the couple. It`s been almost three years since she started dating Kunal Kemmu.

"Why are people interested in my life? I am sure people must be bored by this time. I have already given a huge news this year that we both are staying together now. All I can say is I have given a big news for this year. Now wait for next year," said the sister of actor Saif Ali Khan.

Soha, who has acted in Bengali films like `Antarmahal` and `Iti Srikanta`, says people like regional movies as there is honesty in them.

"People like regional films because there is honesty, truth and identity in those films. Meanwhile Hindi cinema needs to relate to everyone; so to make a film on a national level it can`t be so rooted," she said.

"Regional films like in Bengali can be rooted in culture. I have done two Bengali films and I am proud about them," she added.

She is currently busy promoting war comedy `War Chhod Na Yaar`, which will hit the theatres Oct 11.

Directed by Faraz Haidar, `War Chhod Na Yaar` also features Sharman Joshi and Jaaved Jaaferi.

Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar have been sharing not-so-warm vibes ever since `Chennai Express` and `Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara` released. SRK’s `Chennai Express` got a wide release and dominated most cinema halls which left OUATIMD with a few screens. This indeed affected the box office collections of Akshay Kumar starrer gangster flick. That’s the reason behind their ‘we-don’t-see-eye-to-eye’ game which has been going on for months. And going by the recent events, we thinks this game isn’t going to end any time soon. Akshay and SRK attended Yogesh Lakhani’s birthday bash recently. The two actors would have come face-to-face but they avoided their meeting by arriving at different times at the birthday bash. Poor birthday boy, we hear, had to cut the cake twice.

We wonder why so much fuss over two films which have come and gone already, hai na? Also, some films do well, some don’t – that’s how it works in Bollywood. So time to let it go boys!
With no other big films releasing this Friday, Abhinav Kashyap's Besharam has a clean week as far as competition goes. The movie starring Ranbir Kapoor is hitting theatres on October 2. The film will be a litmus test for both actor Ranbir after superhit Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Anurag Kashyap post Dabangg.

"Our expectations are huge. We have made a good film and have promoted it well," Kahsyap told IANS.

The film, produced by Himanshu Mehra, Sanjeev Gupta and Reliance Entertainment, had a shooting budget of Rs.60 crore plus the cost of promotions, marketing and advertising.

"We have locked about 3,600 screens in India and 700 screens overseas," said the director.

Whether the audience will accept Ranbir in de-glam role or not, will only be revealed once the movie releases.

"It is a big film and there is no other film releasing in the same week. We have to wait and watch how it unfolds and whether the audience likes it or not," trade analyst Taran Adarsh told IANS.

Besharam also stars Ranbir's actor-parents Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh. Actress Pallavi Sharda, a newcomer who hails from Australia, plays the female lead in the film.
Romancing in the golden mustard fields, lush green spaces, heritage sites and a vibrant lifestyle - the charm of Punjab is making the state the destination for Bollywood's film industry.

When Yash Chopra captured the beauty of Punjab in the Shah Rukh Khan-Priety Zinta starrer Veer-Zara, he not only made a classic cross-border love story but also broke free from the cliched European destinations of Hindi cinema.

The snow-kissed mountains of Switzerland or the streets of London now have stiff competition as Punjab is the new-found love for filmmakers in Bollywood.

Punjab and Chandigarh seem to be attracting more filmmakers to come and shoot here. In the last five years or more, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and Akshay Kumar - the A-listers of Bolywood's male superstars - have all shot in Chandigarh and nearby areas of Punjab. Some of them have done it more than once.

Among the top heroines, the likes of Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Sonakshi Sinha, Priety Zinta, Sonam Kapoor and others have shot films here.

"It was Veer Zara which set the ball rolling for shootings in and around Chandigarh and inspired others to come here," Darshan Aulakh, production manager of the super-hit film, told IANS.

"In a way, it paved the path for more Bollywood movies to be shot in and around the city after the militancy days (in Punjab)," added Aulakh, whose production house makes arrangements for most Hindi filmmakers in Punjab and Chandigarh.

Punjab has a strong filial connection with Bollywood - given all the Kapoors, Chopras, Deols, Khannas, Anands and other Punjabis who have made it big over the past five decades.

"I feel Punjab and its culture have become the essence of Bollywood films. No Hindi film is complete without a bit of Punjab in it, be it in songs, language, locations or even a small character," actor Arya Babbar, who has been seen in Hindi and Punjabi films and is the son of actor-politician Raj Babbar, told IANS.

Punjab provides production houses a bevy of opportunities to capture all things Punjabi that reflect in their films' scripts and characters. So, big Bollywood banners and a galaxy of stars are becoming a common sight in the region.

Bollywood actor Govinda, who will soon be seen in a Punjabi movie, shares his love for the state: "I always love coming to Punjab. I make it a point to visit the Golden Temple in Amritsar once every year. People here are so warm and welcoming, which I think is another reason for Bollywood's obsession to shoot here."

Films such as Salman Khan's Bodyguard, Shahid Kapur's Mausam, Akshay Kumar's Joker, Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardar, Imran Khan's Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and the most recent super-hit, Farhan Akhtar's Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, have all been shot in and around Chandigarh, Patiala and other locations in Punjab.

"I am a proud Punjabi and to see Punjab being promoted, as so many films are being shot here, makes me really happy. It will definitely help boost tourism in the region," Punjabi actor and singer Gippy Grewal said.

From the Apne family saga of the Deols (Dharmendra-Sunny-Bobby) to Kareena Kapoor-Shahid Kapur's refreshing Jab We Met, the vivacity of Punjab, its rustic locations and vibrant dances have mesmerised one and all.

"For films which require the scenic beauty of rural parts, open green fields and the village lifestyle, Punjab provides a perfect backdrop," says Punjabi film actor Binnu Dhillon, known for his comedy roles in recent Punjabi hit films.

Small budget film Mere Dad ki Maruti was mostly shot in Chandigarh. Rang de Basanti, Love Aaj Kal, Besharam and others were shot in Punjab and Chandigarh.

"Shooting at the locations of Punjab is very cheap. A song shot in the yellow fields of Punjab will look as beautiful as the one shot in a foreign location. Thus, filmmakers prefer to shoot in the region as it saves huge costs," says Darshan Grewal, producer of super-hit Punjabi movie Jatt and Juliet.

Even Oscar-winning Hollywood director Kathryn Bigelow shot for her latest film Zero Dark Thirty, based on the hunting down of the world's most dreaded terrorist Osama bin Laden by US forces, in and around Chandigarh.

Be it to show the effervescent culture of Punjab for a script or its rich colours for a song or just to put in some Punjabi flavour in the film, Bollywood's romance with Punjab seems growing fast.

First look of Priyanka Chopra's item song in 'Ramleela' is finally out. Priyanka is looking sultry in a white choli and dhoti with a thigh high slit.

This special song is said to have been choreographed by Prabhu Deva's brother Vishnu Deva and was shot in the Film City Studios with an expensive artificial set.

Choreographer Vishnu Deva was impressed with Priyanka's dancing skills and tweeted:
The song has twenty other female dance performers.
Priyanka Chopra has recently done item numbers for 'Zanjeer' and 'Shootout At Wadala'.

'Ramleela' is an adaptation of Shakespeare's epic love story Romeo and Juliet, set in rural Gujarat in violent times. The film features Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh as it's leading stars.

The Kangna Ranaut starrer Rajjo is releasing on the same date as Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram Leela -- a date which filmmakers are avoiding

Director Vishwas Patil says, `I was waiting for an apt time to release the film. Kangna plays a mujrawali but it is not a depressing film.

After seeing the final cut there was an added sense of confidence.` Hmmm...
It's the first day for newbie Asif Azim in the 'Bigg Boss' house and he already seems to be mingling with the other inmates

While he knew a few people in the house, the rest are strangers to him. To make Asif familiar with other members of the house, Bigg Boss gave a task to the housemates. According to the task, every member in the house has to tag other housemate basis characteristics written on a card. Later, the person who has been tagged needs to guess the name of the housemate who gave him/her that tag.

Bigg Boss gave the responsibility to Tanisha to lead this session and ensure that everybody read their name tags. While the session was in full swing, it got more interesting when Kamya tagged Gauahar as 'jhoothi'. When asked why she tagged Gauahar with this characteristic, Kamya went back to their argument over the swap nominations and said that she has been a big liar.

Gauahar does not appreciate Kamya's behaviour and tries to justify her point. Tanisha tries to control the situation and takes the session ahead. Looks like Asif to take it slow.

That Saif Ali Khan has a style and thought different from other stars in the B-Town is a known fact. Now that has started reflecting in the way he promotes his films as well, as can be seen for 'Bullett Raja'. To give a real time feel of what the film is all about even before its First Look is launched, he has released an online comic strip titled 'The Legend of Bullett Raja'.

"This is an altogether unique initiative," comments a source, "There is quite some intrigue around how Tigmanshu Dhulia and Saif Ali Khan have collaborated for 'Bullett Raja'. This comic strip manages to throw some light on that. As of now two chapters have been released - 'Ek Seeti Ka Jawaab' and 'Shikaar Ka Shikaar'."

In his true debonair style, Saif emerges as a smart hero in both stories. While in 'Ek Seeti Ka Jawaab' he takes on a couple of men who are trying to molest two young girls on a street, 'Shikaar Ka Shikaar' is about a gangster trying to kill Saif for a 'supari' and instead seeing tables turn on him.

"Saif is a huge aficionado of comic books and he tried doing something different with Agent Vinod as well which was titled 'The Jungfrau Encounter'. It had boasted of an interested storyline and some very good visuals with the kind of packaging that no other Bollywood related comic book had boasted of before," an observer adds.

Interestingly, Saif is also committed to make a film based on a French comic book no less. In his radar for around a year now, Saif's team is already working on the Bollywood adaptation of this comic book which is an action thriller centered on the life and times of a businessman.
Credibility of the Salman Khan brand seems to be getting stronger by the year as he ranks 3rd in the Screen Annual Survey 2013 about Bollywood brands.

A talk about brand building now seems incomplete without a mention of Salman Khan.

Be it in a survey or at a panel discussion on the same. From being dropped as a hot potato by brands, he's now one of the most sought star to endorse a product in the past four years.

Also read: Amitabh Bachchan tops Screen Survey 2013, has the biggest brand value

12 per cent in the Screen Annual Survey 2013 rate him as the third biggest brand in Bollywood, three steps ahead of even his buddy, Aamir Khan (9%).

Unlike Amitabh Bachchan or Shah Rukh Khan, it's tough to get this Khan to decode his brand appeal and yet he might as well qualify to be the Spin Doctor of Bollywood. His star client: himself!

Also read: Amitabh Bachchan tops Screen Survey 2013, Shah Rukh Khan at No. 2

What seem to work for Salman are qualities like fitness (37%), energy (12%), bold (7%), good looks and charm (7%) and social awareness (6%).

While he remains the undisputed 'Bod' of Bollywood (37%), he is also seen as a man who works hard (4%), is intelligent (4%) and takes risks (3%).

The last may have more to do with Salman Khan as a person than any experimental works on screen.

He's unapologetic about the kind of films he works in, which are typical masala fare. And yet, 16 per cent see the actor as the third best ambassador to represent Bollywood on a global platform, two steps ahead of Aamir Khan again.
Actress Anushka Sharma and Parineeti Chopra paid a tribute to yesteryear actresses Nargis and Madhubala at a fashion show organised for the birth anniversary of the late filmmaker Yash Chopra.

Dressed in their traditional best, Bollywood leading ladies Rekha, Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, Rani Mukherji, Juhi Chawla, Preity Zinta, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Parineeti Chopra walked the ramp for a fashion show in memory of late filmmaker Yash Chopra on his birth anniversary this evening at YRF studio.

Besides the models, the show saw a theme, where the popular songs from the respective films of all the nine heroines except Anushka and Parineeti, were played in the

background as they walked the ramp.

The show began with an audio message that Anushka Sharma will pay tribute to Nargis and Parineeti to Madhubala.

The mood was set as that of that golden era.

Anushka wore a black colour sari and teamed it up with a red colour bhindi and Parineeti was seen in a heavy embroidery red colour lehenga.

Sridevi, who looked elegant in Rajputana Rajhasthani wine colour ghagra, said she misses Yash Chopra.

Madhuri dazzled the ramp in a black colour sequence sari. Priety Zinta and Parineeti Chopra spoke about having paratha's with Chopra.

"All these actresses have one thing common...being directed by Yash Chopra...something I missed out on. But I had the honour of meeting him almost everyday, whenever I was here (YRF studio), having lunch with him. Wish him happy birthday from all of us," Parineeti said.

Preity Zinta, who wore Kashmiri white sharara, said "May his soul rest in peace ...we all miss you."

Juhi said she was overwhelmed on being part of Chopra's films at the early stage of her career. "I had stepped into the film industry and he casted me for a guest appearance in 'Chandani'...it was a dream come true. Later, I worked with him in 'Darr'. I am happy I got to work with him. I am excited to be here to celebrate his birth anniversary," she said.

"I thank Yash Chopra from the bottom of my heart to present me in a beautiful manner in his films. We will miss you," Rekha said.

Mukherji, who wore an embroidered ghagra, got emotional while talking about Chopra.

"I miss you Yash uncle. I feel sorry I couldn't make a cake for you on your last birthday as I was busy with other commitments. I miss you everyday," a teary-eyed Rani said.

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan concluded the fashion show by

walking the ramp in a black suit.

Mumbai: Actress Aditi Rao Hydari is totally against the term "item song". She says she won`t mind being a part of a "dance number" as long as it is graceful.

"I hate the word item song. For me, an item song is when a girl wears small clothes and looks sexy...I don`t want to look cheap. For me, grace is important. So I don`t think I will do item number. But yes, if it`s a dance number, I would love to do it," Aditi said here.

The actress is busy promoting her forthcoming film ‘Boss’, in which she has even donned a bikini. She says she is happy with the positive response to her look in the movie which stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role.

"I was asked not to lose weight (for the movie), but I worked hard and toned my body. I wanted to go for a naturally feminine body. I did a lot of body exercise. I ate healthy, I am happy that people have liked it. I am happy that the feedback has been very positive," added the actress, earlier seen in movies like ‘Rockstar’ and ‘London, Paris, New York’.
New Delhi: Bollywood`s big names Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor and Irrfan have tasted the Hollywood flavour. But R. Madhavan, who has finally crossed over with international project ‘Night Of The Living Dead: Origins’, says Indian actors lack the capacity to establish themselves in an international set-up.

"We have a long way to go before actors in India can establish themselves (internationally) in a big way," Madhavan, who has delivered noteworthy performances in Hindi films like ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ said.

The multilingual star will be seen as a US marine officer in Simon West`s Hollywood film ‘Night of the Living Dead: Origins’.

Of Hollywood, the actor said: "Their market and technology is completely different from ours. I don`t think Indian stars have the bandwidth to go struggle and give screen tests there, leaving everything behind here."

Nevertheless, there`s something about Hollywood actors that makes Maddy jealous!

"I think the only thing which I am jealous about is that if I was an actor in Hollywood, with all the hit films which I have, I won`t have to work for another day in my life. Even if an actor has two hits in his life in Hollywood, he will never be poor," he said.

Not only are the payments enhanced but so are the budgets of the films.

"Technology-wise we are almost there. But the budgets over there are high (higher). It is very tough for us to make those kinds of films in our kind of economy. But even now we do make international level films," said the 43-year-old actor.

He has finished shooting ‘Night of the Living Dead: Origins’, a zombie film.

"It has been a huge learning experience and it was very exciting. I was very nervous as I had never shot like that before," he said.

It was the prospect of working with Simon West of ‘Con Air’ and ‘Lara Croft: Tomb Raider’ fame that attracted him to go on board.

"It was a Simon West film. That was a huge advantage. Secondly, it had completely new technology," said Madhavan, who has featured in TV shows and has also done films in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam across his over 15-year-old career.

Madhavan is glad that the Indian film industry and the public have "been very nice with me".

"I am just keeping my fingers crossed for the future," he said.

Moreover, he says: "For actors like me, nothing is enough. I want a lot more than what I get".
Actress Shraddha Kapoor is set for her first item number in Karan Johar's "Ungli" and actor-father Shakti Kapoor describes the song as a kids number and not the regular item song.

"It is not an item song. It is a delicate kids song. It's an amazing song. There is nothing that is hidden in our family, we all know about everyone. So, it is not an item song, like 'Dhak dhak' or anything," Shakti said here Wednesday at the birthday bash of Yogesh Lakhani, CMD of Bright Outdoor Media Pvt. Ltd.

When asked if the 55-year-old would like to see it, he said: "Why wouldn't I see it? I have seen everyone's item numbers."

"Ungli" is directed by Rensil D'Silva and stars Emraan Hashmi, Kangna Ranaut, Randeep Hooda and Sanjay Dutt.

Shakti went on to say that an actor should not have any inhibitions and told reporters that his son Siddhanth has given a bare-body scene in "Ugly."

"An actor should not have any inhibitions. My son has done a bare-body dance sequence in Anurag Kashyap's film 'Ugly,' in fact he has danced in his underwear. When Ranbir Kapoor can, they why can't Siddhant Kapoor?," he asked.

"Ugly" is a psychological thriller written and directed by Anurag Kashyap. The film also stars Ronit Roy, Girish Kulkarni and Tejaswini Kolhapure. It is currently slated for Oct 11 release.
Actor-producer Salman Khan, who is all set to produce the remake of Subhash Ghai's hit film "Hero", will start rolling the cameras for the movie by early next year.

A 1983 film, "Hero" was directed by Subhash Ghai and featured Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Sheshadri, who were new at that time.

"Yes, I am very happy that 'Hero' is being remade and Salman Khan and his team will certainly do a good job. The film will be directed by Nikhil Advani and it will go on floors by early 2014," Ghai told.

To be the first film being made under Salman Khan Productions, it will reportedly star Aditya Pancholi's son Sooraj and Suniel Shetty's daughter Athiya in the lead roles.
The transition from Bollywood to television was literally painful for Mallika Sherawat.

The actress, who will feature in Life Ok's reality show "The Bachelorette India - Mere Khayalon Ki Mallika", had reportedly fallen from a bike and hurt herself while shooting for the show's promo.

"When Mallika was shooting for the promo, an unforeseen incident happened with her. The moment the bike accelerated, Mallika lost control and fell from it. Not just this, the sari got stuck in the wheel and unfortunately got torn," said a source close to the production house.

"She faced minor bruises but her spirit was undeterred. She immediately got up and to everyone's surprise, created no fuss and agreed to re-shoot," the source added.

The dating reality show, based on the internationally popular format of "The Bachelor", focusses on finding a match for the actress among 30 contestants.

A relentless worker that he is, Shah Rukh Khan often goes the extra mile to achieve success as he fears losing the top position

The 47-year-old superstar, whose last release "Chennai Express" is one of the highest grossers at the box-office till date, said he is constantly working hard to sustain his place in the industry. "I am scared of losing. I am scared of coming second.

I am scared of not making it big. So, I have such a fear of failure that I work harder when even I don't need to. I work longer when I don't have to. "I never rest on my laurels because I feel that this will be taken away one day.

I have this fear that if I don't work hard enough I will lose what I have attained and not be able to continue to do so. I don't have blood pressure neither I am a heart victim but I need to just work hard," he said on the sidelines of 40th National Management Convention by All India Management Association (AIMA).

A star in the industry for two decades, Shah Rukh said that his journey has not been a cakewalk and he did face his share of failures. But now basking in the success of "Chennai Express", the actor said he has made many foes in the industry after doing the Rohit Shetty film. "Failures also gets you to find who your real friends are. The true strength of your relationship gets tested in the phase of strong adversity.

I lost lots of friends post 'Ra.One', apart from losing a lot of audience too. And after 'Chennai Express', I haven't made any new friends but I have a whole new set of enemies now," he added.

Shah Rukh sported grey streaks at the event which he said is a part of his look for his upcoming Farah Khan directed film "Happy New Year". Having given many hit films including "Darr", "Baazigar", "Dilwale Dulhaniya Le jayenge", "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" and "Chak De!"among others, he said that he still feels like a new comer on the sets.

"When I look at a project, I feel I don't know anything and I begin the film as a newcomer. I take it as my last project and give all my efforts to make it big so that I don't repent later," he said.
Deepika Padukone's character in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming film is called Leela which is also his mother's name

Bhansali, who has made the film for his mom considers Dippy even more dearer because of her name in the film.
The Playboy model was seen in a sheer black dress at Cannes for the release of Azaan, with Sachiin Joshi. And recently we spotted Pooja in a see-through kinda black number. Was she imitating Candice? You decide…
At a recently held bash Pooja Mishra seemed to be vying for attention in the black outfit she had chosen. Neither the front nor the back of her dress looked appealing to us. The front displayed a diagonally set panel of sheer black material and her cleavage looked everything except hot! Overall, the dress was plain. Moving on to the back… well, the Bigg Boss 5 contestant had decided to take the backless route. But that’s not what caught our attention. Our eyes kinda drifted south and stopped, stunned, vaguely horrified. It was Pooja’s derriere that stopped traffic, and certainly not in a happy way. This was more like a multiple car pile-up on the expressway – a disaster! Take a closer look and you can see that she’s chosen to use add-ons to enhance her…ahem… assets.

Now think back to Cannes 2011. Remember Candice Boucher’s daring see-through lace ensemble that she wore to Festival De Cannes 2011. The sheer black dress had a design that was smartly positioned such that it covered her modesty, even though it left very little to the imagination. The front as well as the back of the gown was revealing, to say the least. But we can’t deny that the long sheer gown helped her flaunt her enviably sexy perfectly fit and toned figure. Don’t you agree?

If item girl Pooja Mishra was trying to copy the South African model, she needs to learn how to do it. Looking at these two ladies, we can say that Candice has give lessons on how to wear sheer, while Pooja is the ideal model for the ‘how not to’ part!
Karisma Kapoor feels that the gap created by her exit from the movie industry has been more than filled up by her sister Kareena. She also expresses joy over carrying forward their family`s acting tradition along with their cousin Ranbir, Bollywood`s current heartthrob.

"I don`t regret my decision. I think it is a great graduation for me. Kareena took the place where I left off, if I can say so. Now my cousin (Ranbir) is also doing so well. I am glad that the tradition is continuing," Karisma, who quit the industry in 2003 after marriage said..

She married Delhi-based industrialist Sanjay Kapur, but they divorced this year. The actress of hits like ‘Raja Hindustani’ and ‘Biwi No. 1’ took a break from acting to raise her children - Samaira, 8 and Kiaan, 3.

Her comeback film was 2012 release ‘Dangerous Ishhq’, which got a lukewarm response at the box office. Even though she is back under the arc lights, she still puts her children before everything else.

"Earlier, it was a conscious decision for me not to work. I was happy to be away and I wanted to be with my children during their formative years. I do step out now, but my first priority is my kids. This is how it will always be for me," said Karisma, who also acted in non-commercial films like ‘Fiza’ and ‘Zubeidaa’.

Asked about her children`s response to her star status, she says her daughter treats her like a regular mother.

"My daughter is the most normal towards me. For her, I am just her mom. I am just a regular mom and the actor comes after that. If she likes something that I am wearing, she tells me and if she doesn`t, she still makes it a point to let me know," she said.

Karisma said that she is more of a disciplinarian than a strict parent.

"I won`t say I am a strict mother, but discipline is important. Timing and routine are important for kids. My children also look forward to that," she said.

"I think it is important to be a friend to your kids. But it is also equally important to set boundaries. My mother was a strong influence and so was my dad. My mom was my friend whom I couldn`t cross," she said.

Karisma also wants to protect her children from the limelight.

"I try to shield my children as far as possible from the public glare. I want them to have a normal childhood, like we had. We went to school by the school bus, had school food... There was no special treatment given to us. The same applies to my children as well," the 39-year-old said.

But being brought up in the lap of luxury, it was very tough for Samaira to believe that her family was different from the rest.

"She thought everyone`s mom was an actor and everyone`s autographs are taken. Having a masi (Kareena), a mama (Ranbir) like that, it was tough for her to understand. My son`s still young, but he will get a grip of this from my daughter," said the actress.

The actress recently launched her book ‘My Yummy Mummy Guide’ on pregnancy and motherhood.

Indore: Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor today said people will learn the truth about his reported affairs only when he gets married.

"When I will get married, the truth behind these reports will come out on its own. It is the media which is publishing all these news," Ranbir said, talking to reporters here.

The actor, who is currently dating Katrina Kaif after his break up with Deepika Padukone, added that at present he is focused on his films.

Answering a question, the 30-year-old actor said he believes in healthy competition, and added that he will have competition with actors ranging from Amitabh Bachchan to Varun Dhanwan, Siddharth Malhotra and Arjun Kapoor, who were all doing a good job.

Ranbir said he considered his father Rishi Kapoor the best actor of the Hindi cinema, and therefore, he doesn`t want to act in the remakes of his father`s films.

But if he was to choose, he would like to act in films like `Karz` (1980) and `Jamane ko Dikhana Hai` (1981), he said.

Ranbir, who began his career with Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s `Sawaariya` (2007), will soon be seen in Abhinav Kashyap`s `Besharam`, which will release on October 2.

Mumbai: Many beauties of Hindi Cinema have dazzled the silver screen with their oomph and ravishing bikini bodies. Right from Sharmila Tagore to Zeenat Aman to Karisma Kapoor to Priyanka Chopra, all these women have flaunted their curves on screen in a two-piece. And the next joining the bandwagon is Sonam Kapoor.

Yes, you read it right. Sonam, who had admitted that she doesn’t have a bikini bod, is gearing up to set the silver screen ablaze in a two-piece.

In the remake of ‘Khoobsurat’, which originally starred the sultry Rekha, Sonam will shed her inhibitions. The film in question will be produced by her sibling Rhea Kapoor.

Unlike the 1980s super-hit classic, the new age ‘Khoobsoorat’ will see Sonam in a bold avatar. Her character in the film is far from that of Rekha’s in the Hrishikesh Mukherjee film.

Reportedly, Sonam is following a strict diet chart to watch her weight so that she is able to carry her new look to perfection.

The film is slated to go on floors this November.
The magnitude of Lata Mangeshkar cannot be possibly described in words.

Just imagine brilliance at its finest best and some more and you might just come close to appreciating her influence/embodiment on/as music.

Whether you were born in the 1940s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s or post 2000, there’s no way you’ve not been touched by her soulful voice.

For music lovers, the legend of melody is like the sun whose brightness has not merely enriched their love for music but shaped their taste. Even her harshest critics will not deny her devotion towards her art or the longevity of her career.

The befittingly decorated Nightingale of India and, quite literally, Bharat’s Ratna turns 84 on September 28.

In her enduring journey, the singer has performed in multiple languages, worked with every distinguished composer, sang duets with all the top male playback singers in the industry and embellished the careers of countless beautiful ladies -- new and iconic -- with her inimitable mithaas.

From Madhubala to Madhuri Dixit, we celebrate Lata Mangeshkar -- the voice of seven decades.

2000 onwards

At 70 plus, Mangeshkar’s sonorous timbre had seen better days. But filmmakers insisted on her celebrated voice gracing their movies and her loyal following savored it.

Aishwarya Rai, Rani Mukerji, Kareena Kapoor, Sneha Ullal and Konkona Sen Sharma can count themselves among the lucky few for whom the songstress has sung in her precious few assignments in the past couple of decades.

Though her songs Humko Humise Churalo (Mohabbatein), O Palanhare (Lagaan) Andekhi Anjani Si (Mujhse Dosti Karoge), Kabhi Khushi (Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham), Tere Liye (Veer Zaara), Kitne Ajeeb (Page 3) Shayad Yehi Toh (Lucky: No Time For Love), Lukka Chuppi (Rang De Basanti) and Daata Sun Le (Jail) have met with a varying degree of reception, Lata Mangeshkar’s body of work (she's rumoured to have sung a track for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming epic, Ramleela) is much too vast, awe-inspiring and prized to disregard at any juncture.
