The South star's daughter Soundarya calls his 'lucky mascot' S P Balasubramaniam to croon for his film 'Kochadaiiyaan - The Legend'

The flood of humorous Rajnikanth SMSes doing the rounds would claim the God of South cinema would need no outside help to make his movies work. But looks like the makers of Kochadaiiyaan The Legend are looking to play the lucky mascot card for the veteran actor's upcoming film.

Noted playback singer S P Balasubramaniam, who recently sang for Shah Rukh Khan in Chennai Express, has been called upon to croon a music track titled Medhuvaaga thaanin in the Rajni-starrer.

The popular notion down south is that every Rajni film Balasubramaniam sings in, invariably becomes a hit. Says a source, `Rajni sir's daughter, Soundarya Rajnikanth Ashwin was keen to present her father in his nouveau persona with great gusto.`

The musician's song, for which AR Rahman has composed the music, will apparently introduce Rajnikanth's character in the film. Says Soundarya, `We required the correct musical backing and vocals to further emphasise the grandiosity my father's performance brings.`
