Actress Taapsee Pannu is planning to travel to Agra to do research work for her role in the upcoming movie 'Agra Ka Daabra'

Priyanka Chopra Says Swimsuit Round in Miss World Competition Was 'Awkward'

Actress and Miss World 2000 Priyanka Chopra says she was lucky not to have a swimsuit round during the competition as she finds it strange to walk in bikini on stage.

The organisers of the Miss World contest, which has been an annual feature since 1951, have removed swimsuit round from their competition starting next year.

To this, Priyanka said, "Obviously, it's strange to walk in heels and swim suit on stage. Take us to a pool or a beach and do that shoot, that's fine because that's a natural environment. It's weird and not natural."

"I have found it awkward myself but I am happy that it didn't happen with me in my years during Miss World. We didn't have this swimsuit round," she added.

Rolene Strauss of South Africa was crowned the 64th Miss World winner in London on December 14 and it marked the final event featuring contestants wearing bikinis.

Bollywood actor Salman Khan's starry birthday party was made an affair to remember by his good friends, colleagues, Priyanka Chopra and Sonakshi Sinha.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, while Sonakshi coaxed the actor to jive to Hum Ka Peeni Hai, the chartbusting number from their movie Dabangg, his Mujhse Shaadi Karogi co-star, Priyanka Chopra, crooned a birthday song for him.

However, Salman soon went back to mingling with members of his family, including his newly-wed sister Arpita and brother-in-law Aayush Sharma.

The party, which was held at Arpita's Panvel farmhouse on the outskirts of Mumbai, reportedly continued till the wee hours of morning - Ajay Devgn came as early or as late as 5 am.

A source told Mumbai Mirror, "The duo soon got caught up in a 'philosophical' discussion. Later, they went out for a walk in the woods that lasted a good 20 minutes.

"Sajid Nadiadwala, Suniel Shetty, Ritesh Deshmukh, Sohail and Salman got intense towards dawn. "Salman insisted it was neccessary to have a quiet place outside Mumbai. His farm has no connectivity for mobile phones, just a landline for emergencies," he added.

‘Alone’ more than just a horror movie: Bipasha Basu ..

Actress Bipasha Basu says her upcoming movie ‘Alone‘ is more than just a horror film as it deals with relationship and turmoils of a married couple.

The film has been directed by Bhushan Patel and also stars TV actor Karan Singh Grover, who plays the male lead opposite the 35-year-old actress.

“‘Alone’ is not a horror film for me. It is a passionate love story for me. Through our characters we have tried to show a realistic love story. Everyone who is married or who have been in a relationship will identify with this. Many aspects of relationships has been shown… So the film is not only sexy. There is a lot of depth,” Bipasha said in an interview.

In the film, which is a remake of a 2007 Thai film of the same name, Bipasha will be seen in a double role as she plays a conjoined twin. The actress said she had a very hard time during the shooting of the film.

“They are twins but are different from each other as one is alive and one is dead and they are both in love with Kabir (played by Karan). The shooting was difficult as I had to be joined with my body double. Shooting was a different experience as a lot of time we had to take care of the distance and other technicalities while filming the conjoined part,” she said.

Bipasha was all praise for her co-star Karan, who is making his Bollywood debut with the film, and said that the actor has a lot of potential.

“He has a lot of potential and is very talented. He can be an A-list actor in our business- he looks great, he can dance and his emotional scenes are his strength. He is an easy fit for the films we make.”

When asked if she had any apprehensions working with a newcomer, Bipasha said, “There were no qualms on doing a film with a TV actor and he is not even a newcomer. He has been in the industry for the last 10 years. He is a popular actor and has a strong fan following.”

Bipasha, who has starred in a string of horror movies like ‘Raaz’, ‘Raaz 3D’, ‘Aatma’ and the latest ‘Creature 3D’, in her 13-year-long career, said she has no idea why the maximum number of films of this genre are offered to her.

Pranitha Subhash in Telugu remake of ‘Arima Nambi’

Actress Pranitha Subhash will play the female lead in as yet untitled Telugu remake of Tamil thriller Arima Nambi’.

“I’m really excited and looking forward to start shooting for the film,” Pranitha said in a statement.
Directed by Deva Katta, the remake features Vishnu Manchu in the lead. The actor has undergone freestyle martial arts training in preparation for his role.

Vikram to promote ‘I’ on Big Boss

Actor Vikram, who is currently in the city, will be promoting his upcoming Tamil magnum opus ‘I’ on the sets of reality TV show ‘Big Boss’. He will shoot a special episode with host Salman Khan.

Model-actress Tejaswini Kolhapure says she is happy with the way her niece Shraddha Kapoor's career is shaping up in Bollywood.

Tejaswini, 34, who was last seen in a small role in Mani Ratnam's Raavan, said the Ek Villain actress waited for seven years to get good roles.

Ranveer, Deepika to ring in the New Year together?

Deepika Padukone is already in Maldives to ring in the Christmas along with her family but buzz is rife that she will welcome the new year with beau Ranveer Singh.

The actress, who is currently spending her time her family in Maldives, will be joined by Ranveer and the two shall later fly to some other destination to celebrate the new year's.

According a leading daily, Ranveer has got a break from the shooting of Bajirao Mastani for a week and the actor is flying to Maldives to join Deepika and her family.

Ranveer will most likely fly to Maldives and then the two are going to head to another destination together for a romantic break. And, this is not the first time that the two have taken out time from their busy schedules to be with each other. Ranveer dropped by to surprise Deepika while she was shooting for Tamaasha in Corsica.

Actress Surveen Chawla, who plays a C-grade item girl in Ugly, hopes the movie finds a strong audience through a positive word of mouth.

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, Ugly releases Friday - a week after Aamir Khan-starrer PK hit the screens - and set the cash registers ringing at the Bollywood box office. While Surveen admits both films cater to different sets of audience, she is hopeful Ugly will grow.

"I am a huge fan of Rajkumar Hirani and both the films are extremely different. The audience of 'Ugly' is not same as that of 'PK'. 'Ugly' is film is for the niche audience. There is a different set of people who want to watch Anurag's films," Surveen said.

She is confident that if a film is good, it will do well.

"I am certain that 'Ugly' will grow through word of mouth," she added.

Ugly features Rahul Bhatt, Ronit Roy, Girish Kulkarni, Siddhanth Kapoor and Tejaswini Kolhapure in key roles.

Actor Sanjay Dutt Released from Yerwada Jail on 14-Day Furlough

Incarcerated Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who was granted two weeks' furlough by the state prison authorities here on late Tuesday, has been released from Yerwada Central Jail (YCJ), officials said on Wednesday.

A Mantralaya official, requesting anonymity, had said earlier on Wednesday that Mr Dutt would be released later in the day.

Mr Dutt, who is currently serving a five-year jail term since nearly 18 months, had applied for the furlough in November.

Earlier, he had taken furlough on medical grounds in October 2013 for 28 days, followed by a similar leave for 28 days in December 2013, to tend to his ailing wife Maanyata - the latter had sparked protests.

His wife's prolonged illness prompted him to seek further parole in January for another 28 days.

Mr was convicted for illegal possession and destruction of an AK-56 army assault rifle during the 1993 Mumbai communal conflagration before the March 12, 1993 serial bomb blasts in the city.

Following a Supreme Court directive, he had surrendered May 16, 2013, and was shifted to the high-security YCJ in Pune to serve the remainder of his 42-month sentence.

Bigg Boss 8: Gautam Misses Diandra, Dimpy Calls Rahul "Family"

The contestants of Bigg Boss 8 explained themselves, clarified their stances and gave their opinions on various issues and controversies surrounding them at a press conference held on December 20.

After the eviction of Praneet from the show, the remaining eight contestants including Ali Quli Mirza, Dimpy Mahajan, Upen Patel, Gautam Gulati, Karishma Tanna, Sonali Raut, Pritam Singh and Puneet Issar faced the media in an intriguing press conference.

On being asked if he misses Diandra, Gautam replied in the affirmative adding that he would meet her and clear their misunderstanding once the show gets over. He said "She (Diandra) is a good friend and will always be".

Gautam admitted being attracted to Diandra and said "She kissed me. I kissed her back."

On being asked about the sudden bout of violence in his personality, Upen Patel said that he may faulter at times due to miscommunication as the game show is a test for him. He also said that he has made few yet true friends in the Bigg Boss house. Upen said he will always be there for his friend Karishma. Karishma, in turn, said she wishes Upen to win Bigg Boss if not herself.

Upen also clarified that he is not in the game show due to any financial crunch.

Talking about his growing difference of opinion with Karishma in the course of the game show, Puneet Issar said "We have to agree to disagree as contestants of a talk show." He added that it is important for every contestant to express his/her opinions freely. Puneet Issar also admitted to be short-tempered and said that he is trying to work upon his weaknesses in the Bigg Boss house.

On being asked about her encounter with former husband Rahul Mahanjan on the show, Dimpy said that she cried as he was leaving after the house party in Bigg Boss as he is "family" but they were behaving like strangers. Dimpy said that she was feeling alienated in the Bigg Boss house and she got emotional but she wouldn't like to rethink her stance on her marriage to Rahul.

Bajirao Mastani pushes Priyanka's Madamji dates

Priyanka Chopra has called Bajirao Mastani as one of her most challenging films. The actress is in no hurry to start with other projects till she completes Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film. And, this has resulted in a delay in the shooting of Madhur Bhandarkar's Madamji.

Priyanka, who is also the producer of Madamji, had to start the shooting of the film in December but Bajirao Mastani's dates spilled over in December, and Madamji had to be postponed till April next year.

The schedule of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's ambitious project was extended by 15 days and Priyanka had to shoot for Bajirao Mastani on the dates scheduled for Madamji.

A source revealed to a daily, "The Bajirao dates spilled over to December, which in turn had a domino effect on Madamji. Now, when she is finally done with her portions of the SLB film, she has a commitment in the US. She has signed a TV deal with a major American network and will spend about two months there."

Apparently, Madhur did not want to shoot Madamji in breaks and wanted to complete the film in start to end schedule.

"It's a drama high on emotions as it is a story of a woman who goes from being an item girl to a top politician. Madhur insisted on shooting the film without breaks to ensure that the character's journey is not disrupted," the source added.

Priyanka has almost completed the shooting of Bajirao Mastani and only a few songs are left to be filmed. "About three songs will be shot sometime next year. The rest of the shoot will happen outdoors, where she is not required. By April, Madamji should go on floors in what will be a start-to-finish schedule as Madhur wants."

Kapil Sharma, who has changed the face of Indian television with his show Comedy Nights With Kapil is all set to make his big Bollywood debut with Abbas-Mustan’s upcoming film, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon.

Recently, there were also rumours about Kapil working on a Punjabi film and setting up his own production house. However, he has squashed all the rumours while talking to a leading daily.

“It was a rumour that I am producing a Punjabi film. I am not. But I plan to produce films in the future. I’d like to produce a Hindi film soon. I was in talks with some people for that, but it’s on hold for now since I’m focusing on my (Hindi) film debut.”

We wonder why is the stand-up comedian shying away from venturing into Punjabi cinema…

Nimrat Kaur Excited About Akshay Kumar's Airlift

Actress Nimrat Kaur, who was last seen in the critically acclaimed film The Lunchbox, is excited to share screen space with Akshay Kumar in Airlift.

When asked about the film, Nimrat said, "I've signed a film called Airlift opposite Akshay. It's a very good story and we will shoot in Abu Dhabi. It is based on a real life story and I am very excited to work in this film."

Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, Airlift is said to be based on the Indians who were stuck in Kuwait during the Gulf War.

The film is expected to go on floors in March or April next year.

When asked if it is true that he chooses films on the basis of box office prospects, Aamir said, "It's a very unfortunate trend because the moment creative people start thinking about numbers, then the shadow of the numbers influences the kind of film they choose and pick." If Aamir's team, comprising director Rajkumar Hirani and producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, created history with 3 Idiots in 2009, the trio have repeated the same success with PK, a film that boasts of a unique concept. It uses an alien to talk about the ills of society and not only makes viewers laugh and cry but also makes them think.

"The moment I start choosing films that can do R 100 crore business, then my choice becomes very limited and I can only do films like Avengers or Spider-Man, which go on to achieve those numbers. This really kills creativity to an alarming extent, so I have always selected my films based on what I feel towards them," he said.

"Like Taare Zameen Parwent on to do good business and I didn't know it would. I just did it because I liked the script. Also, I selected Rang De Basanti because I loved the script. I did Lagaan when the entire film industry thought it was a disaster.

"So these films I have not picked looking at the box office collection, I picked them because I loved them. Later when they became box office hits, it was a different question. I do films if I like the script and not according to its business," he reasoned.

‘Parindey’ Take Praneet Bhat Out of ‘Bigg Boss 8′

The Shakuni of television and “an unofficial” peacemaker of Bigg Boss Season 8, Praneet Bhat is the latest contestant to be evicted from the show.

 After spending thirteen long weeks inside the Bigg Boss house, Praneet was shown the door to return to the outside world. Being one of the more rational contestants in the house, Praneet soon emerged to be a dark horse on the show.

 However as luck would have it Praneet’s “imaginary parindey” took him out weeks before the show drew to a close. “I am not sad. I survived for 13 weeks. It is a great feat for me. Being selected for the show was a very big deal for me.

‘Bigg Boss’ is my gurukul. I have learnt a lot from the show. It has been a wonderful experience,” Praneet told PTI after his eviction..

An integral part of the P3G gang Praneet appeared to be quite patient and down to earth on the show. Infact, he was the only one who thought about what is good for the Bigg Boss house.

 However, he was often labeled as aggressive at times when he was nominated for evictions. Infact, his recent fall outs with Gautam, Puneet and Karishma only added to this image. However, it was revealed that the actor has many more nuances to its personality which often remained unknown.

Praneet wholeheartedly believed in the phrase “let bygones be bygones” as he never held on to any grudge against any of his fellow contestants.

 The newly appointed captain fostered friendships with Pritam, Puneet and an unlikely one with Sonali. Pritam and Praneet in particular were more like brothers in the house.

 As Praneet stepped out of the Bigg Boss house, his two closest friends Pritam and Sonali were seen struggling with their emotions as a few tears let out. As Praneet leaves the Bigg Boss house to go to his family and loved ones,

 he leaves behind his mixed relationships in the Bigg Boss house to foster new ones with his loved ones outside the house. We wish him good luck for whatever the future has in store for him.

Sambhavna, Dolly Bindra back in Bigg Boss house?

As we reported earlier, choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan will replace host Salman Khan in Bigg Boss Season 8.

But there seems to be a twist in the tale.

According to a source, the show's grand finale will be held on January 4, as per the original plan. But the winner may not be announced.

Farah Khan will then take over from Salman, for the next five weeks, with the remaining contestants in the house.

To make matters more interesting, contestants from the previous seasons will be added to the mix.

So we may have names like Sambhavna Seth, Dolly Bindra, Imam Siddique, Ajaz Khan, and Rahul Mahajan back inside the house.

"Bigg Boss is all about surprises, isn't it?" says our source. "The reason for the show's extension is that the channel wanted to a special show as the current season has picked up after the recent conflicts in the house."

Zayed Khan Says He was Typecast

Zayed Khan, known for films like Main Hoon Na, Dus and Shaadi No.1 starring multiple stars, says he was typecast in the film industry.

Zayed, whose film career spans over a decade, said: "My acting career had ups and downs. It's been a mix of everything. I was typecast. I was young and I didn't know many things. I was working in big banner multi-starrer films. I didn't realise I was being typecast."

The actor is currently promoting Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene.

"I took a break from acting and l kept myself busy. Now, I am working in this film which is not a big banner film. I loved the script that's why I chose to this film," he said.

Directed by Gurmmeet Singh, the movie also features Tina Desai and Rannvijay Singh.

Zayed essays the role of a Delhi guy who finds himself embroiled in a situation involving the underworld.

He said "I am quite thrilled and excited about the film. It is quite an unusual concept. I hope the audience enjoys watching the film".

Arbaaz Khan : Dolly Ki Doli Will Take Sonam Kapoor's Career to New Heights

Actor-filmmaker Arbaaz Khan, who has again turned producer with the upcoming film Dolly Ki Doli starring Sonam Kapoor, says the film will prove to be a booster for the actress' career.

Sonam, 29, plays the titular character, who runs away with groom's money in the woman-centric romantic-comedy, directed by debutant Abhishek Dogra.

Arbaaz feels Sonam was always on his mind and she fitted the character's requirements perfectly.

"Sonam was always there in our list and she fulfilled all the parameters and she has no reservations on working with new directors.

She was excited about working with the cast and the story and she was the right person to do Dolly. When success is concern you just need one film to reach new heights and increase your level. It could be Dolly Ki Doli for Sonam," Arbaaz told PTI in an interview.

Arbaaz, who turned producer with blockbuster Dabangg in 2010, said people never expected that he will make a woman-oriented film in his career.

"I always wanted to make a masala entertainer film which is a mainstream film. The film has good characters, dialogues and scenes. Yes it's a women-oriented film and may be people were not expecting from me so soon but a good story is very important as a producer," he said.

Arbaaz said he is excited about the film.

"I was about the film. Post Dabangg 2, when I was listening to the scripts and meeting people then I met Abhishek and writer Umashankar. And when they both told me the story of Dolly Ki Doli, I felt that I have to produce it," he said.

The 47-year-old filmmaker says he never intended to direct Dolly Ki Doli and had immense trust in Abhishek, even though he is a newcomer.

"Abhishek came with the script and it was always his film yes sometime people are anxious too about the fate of the film when new people are working. I have an ability to take risk and I have been always creatively associated in any of my film," Arbaaz said.

Asked if he consulted writer father Salim Khan for his suggestions on Dolly Ki Doli, Arbaaz said, "He gave us the go ahead signal on the script and recently we showed him the rough cut of the film. We thought he would ask us to re-shoot or add something to it. But he liked the film."

Salman Khan: Would Rather Marry in 2015 Than do Film With Other Khans

Superstar Salman Khan, who is often called Bollywood's most eligible bachelor, says in the New Year, he'd rather see himself getting married than doing a movie starring the three Khans together.

Salman was present at the Big Star Entertainment Awards 2014 in Mumbai on Thursday.

Here, he was asked about the events he would he like to see happening in 2015 - Salman Khan getting married or Bollywood's three Khans -- Salman, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan -- doing a film together.

To that, the Dabangg star said, "I would rather see myself getting married than the three Khans doing a film together."
