Badlapur: The curious case of missing Huma Qureshi

It may be called a curious case of missing Huma Qureshi from the promotions of Badlapur.

The actress who plays a small but pivotal role in the film, was snapped on several occasions during the making of Badlapur Huma Qureshi, but is conspicuous by her absence in the promotional events of the film as release gets near.

Actor Varun Dhawan has been seen promoting the film only with either Nawazuddin Siddiqui or Yami Gautam. While, Yami and Varun made a trip to Amritisar and Chandigarh for the promotions, Nawazuddin joined Varun on a TV-series. However, Huma is no where to be seen.

The actress who plays a prostitute in the film has not given any interview related to Badlapur too in the recent times.

Well, according to reports, Huma is irked with more prominence being given to Yami Gautam, who plays Varun's wife in the movie.

Mid-Day quotes a source as saying, "When the film rolled, there was a lot of talk about which of the two actresses would have a bigger role. At that time, it was made to believe that Huma had a stellar role in the film. Now, however, the spotlight is on Yami which may not have gone down well with Huma."

Howeve, Huma's spokesperson maintains keeping away Huma from the press is a deliberate strategy on the makers' part. "Her character is crucial to the plot of the film. It has been decided to keep it under wraps to up the suspense quotient."
