Sonam Kapoor has been slightly flaky with her stand on the AIB Knockout roast featuring Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor. First, she tweeted to support Karan Johar on the homophobic tweet by Censor Board member Ashoke Pandit. This was her tweet, “@ashokepandit comes across as a homophobic misogynistic loser. Are we really trying to curb freedom of speech and expression?” But soon after for reasons unknown, she pulled that tweet down. Ever since, she has been mum about her opinion on the roast.
Recently when asked directly about her opinion on the All India Bakchod video on YouTube, Sonam showed unwillingness to comment at first. But then the reporters milked a reaction out of her. Sonam quipped, “I love the comments that AIB has already made. It doesn’t matter what the content is, people should be allowed to put out anything that they feel. I don’t believe in censorship. That’s all that I have to say.”
Well, that is a pretty strong response on the entire controversy but I wonder why Sonam was reluctant to show her support? Perhaps, because her daddy dearest wasn’t too happy with the jokes that were cracked at the Kapoor family’s expense during the roast show. Tell me what are your thoughts on this in the comments section below...
