I think a child gets basic education at home: Shilpa Shetty

Now that her child is ready to go to playschool, Shilpa Shetty wonders why securing school admissions is such a big deal

After there were stories of Aamir Khan and Aishwarya Rai looking for playschools for their tots, now comes the news that Shilpa Shetty is looking for one too. She says, `Now school admissions is such a big deal, we complicate our lives. We went to normal convent schools down the road.

Today there is research on which school is good, about the way children are educated, parent interviews-child interviews and then in the end, you get paranoid. I think a child gets basic education at home. The more time you spend with your child is the best thing you can do in terms of education and security. I am little old school in that way.`

Shilpa does not want to miss out on her son Viaan Raj's growing up years. The actress, who currently features as a judge on the dance reality show Nach Baliye 6, plans her schedule in such a manner that she does not spend too many days away from him.

A source says, `Shilpa takes a day off from all her commitments after she completes shooting for the show. Also, if she has to go out of town for work even for a day, she ensures that she takes a couple of days break with him.`

Shilpa says, `Everyday he is saying something new, he is doing something crazy. Now he has got this obsession of going to the beach. I want to spend as much time as I can with him.There is lot to do workwise, but I am doing whatever fits into my comfort zone. He gets up at 8 am and sleeps at 9 pm so with these timings, it doesn't make sense for me to work for long periods now.
