On Friday, veteran actor Farooq Sheikh passed away in Dubai after suffering a sudden heart attack. The actor who was born on 25th March 1948 died at the age of 65.

After completing all the formalities in Dubai, his body will be brought to Mumbai later in the day.

The actor had been a part of numerous famous films such as Satyajit Ray's ‘Shatranj Ke Khiladi’, ‘Chashme Buddoor’, ‘Kissi Se Na Kehna’ and ‘Noorie’. He had also been part of parallel cinema in the 1970s and 1980s.

'Garm Hava' (1973) was legendary actor’s first film in Bollywood and he was last seen in 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' as Ranbir Kapoor’s father and recently released film ‘Club 60’.

He made a tremendous contribution in theatre and TV as well. He was the host of the famous talk show 'Jeena Isi ka naam hai' on television.
