Actress Kajol was at the Big Apple on Monday to attend the 69th annual United Nations General Assembly summit where she spoke on maternal and newborn health as well as the importance of washing hands to save lives. The mother-of-two took to Twitter to express her joy over participating in the prestigious summit.

For the big occasion, Kajol opted for a pale white and red jamdani sari by couturier Sabyasachi, teamed with a black full-sleeved blouse with embroidered cuffs, an Amrapali belt with a gold latkan and a Malaga black and gold clutch. “In NY! Just before entering the @UN for the High Level Dialogue on Maternal & Newborn Health...Wish me luck guys!!� she tweeted before her speech.

Kajol has been an active part of the ‘Help A Child Reach 5’ campaign by a soap brand to encourage hand-washing habits in remote villages of the country.
