New Delhi: The five days of Durga Puja are of utmost importance to dusky beauty Rani Mukerji and this year, the significance is even more as it is her first puja after marriage. Rani, who married filmmaker Aditya Chopra earlier this year, will however miss out on the celebrations as she will be travelling for work.

In an interview with a leading English daily, Rani Mukerji said that she regrets not being in Mumbai for the celebrations with her family. The actress' family hosts a special Durga Puja in the city, every year. However, before leaving for work Rani made it a point to visit her family's pandal atleast once to have a glimpse of the goddess.

Talking about the significance of the Puja during the interview, the 'Mardaani' actress said that it's a celebration of the goddess' homecoming and not a festival where one prays to ask for something from the almighty.
